The urban action RPG from HoYoverse has introduced a wide variety of characters to its playable roster since its July launch, both through their playstyles and appearance. The developer has introduced everything from human characters like Anby, Nicole, and Lucy toanimal-human hybrids like Lycaonand Nekomata. Now, the game’s next patch is set to make a major change to its overworld.
WhileZenless Zone Zerohas featured plenty of different characters for its combat, the selection of overworld characters has seen only small changes. The debut ofZenless Zone Zerosaw players only able to control the two members of Phaethon, Belle and Wise, in the game’s overworld, with other characters only available during combat challenges. HoYoverse first made its new characters playable in the overworld during the Version 1.2 update, with players able to traverse New Eridu as Caesar and Burnice. Now, the game’s next update is set to significantly expand its overworld character options.
Zenless Zone Zero Leak Shows New Characters in Overworld
A new leak shared byZenless Zone Zeroleaker xeondev is showing off all ofZenless Zone Zero’s characters walking in the overworld. The video begins by showing off new characters Miyabi and Harumasa in the Sixth Street location, before switching to classic five-star characters like Grace and Zhu Yuan. The showcase also reveals that the update will feature all of the game’s A-Rank cast inZenless Zone Zero’s overworldas well, with some segments featuring popular A-Rank characters like Anby and Corin. The overworld update is expected to launch with Version 1.4, currently scheduled for December 18.
Zenless Zone Zero’s newest update is expected to bring plenty of quality-of-life updates alongside the overworld change. Early leaks from Version 1.4 have suggested enhancement forW-Engines and Drive Diskswill see several improvements, aimed at streamlining the leveling process. Hollow Zero’s Z-Merit currency is also rumored to be seeing another useful application in Version 1.4, with players now able to use Z-Merits to increase their License Level within the roguelike gamemode.
With more characters becoming available in the overworld,Zenless Zone Zerohas already hinted at several upcoming playable characters. HoYoverse confirmed two new S-Rank characters for Version 1.4, with the previously-mentioned Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa being some of the game’s most highly-anticipated additions. Leaks have also teased severalfuture characters including major NPC Pulchra, singer Astra Yao, and a whole “virtual idol” faction.Zenless Zone Zero’s roster is expected to see plenty of expansion in the future, with even more options for players to choose from.
