Wuthering Waveshas managed to captivate the open-world gacha community since it launched in May. Even half a year later, the mysterious planet of Solaris-3 holds plenty of secrets, particularly within its diverse nations. While many players are drawn toWuthering Waves' complex combat system, its rich history and narrative are equally compelling.
Thepost-apocalyptic world ofWuthering Wavesis set on Solaris-3, the third planet from the sun, divided into six distinct nations. So far, only three of these are known: Huanglong, New Federation, and Rinascita. Notably, the Shorekeeper, one of the newest 5-star Spectro Resonators, has referenced Rinascita, with additional mentions scattered throughout NPC dialogues and sightings of manta rays throughout the game. Although it’s unconfirmed whether Rinascita will be the next nation introduced in Version 2.0, there are pros and cons to making 1.4 the final Huanglong patch.
Wuthering Waves 1.4 Appears To Be the Last Patch Before Version 2.0
Wuthering Waves Shifting Focus to a New Nation Could Be Huge for the Game’s Story
When Kuro Games released the1.4 roadmap forWuthering Waves, fans quickly noticed that the Japanese patch preview, now edited, mentioned that Resonator Lumi would be removed from the Afterglow Coral Store in Version 2.0. Though there are some downsides to patch 1.4 being the final update before the developers shift focus to the next nation, it’s an exciting prospect. So far, players have spent all their time in Huanglong, and after six months, it feels appropriate that the narrative takes a bigger step forward.
Furthermore, fans are excited to see how Rinascita or the New Federation will measure up to the established region after the numerous Easter eggs. Lore and background hints suggest that the New Federation is an extremely technologically advanced society, but they may have resorted to questionable methods in their pursuit of progress, including thecreation of the first Artificial Resonator. At the moment, playable Resonators from the New Federation include but aren’t necessarily limited to:
Alternatively, little is known about Rinascita, but if Kuro Games is exploring this nation in Version 2.0, it’s important to note that the story ofWuthering Wavesis based on Chinese mythology. Rinascita is rumored to be a version of Atlantis, influenced by Greek architecture, according toWuthering WavesandGenshin ImpactYouTuber Sidneymar. It is also confirmed to feature “a field of flowers” with daisies and violets, as mentionedby the Shorekeeper. There may even be an underwater section, though this remains speculative.
Rinascita was called Sepunia during Wuthering Waves' CBT1.
Regardless, the official introduction of either the New Federation or Rinascita would resolve one of the remaining mysteries, following months of anticipation from the player base. It would also likely introduce players to new main storylineenemies, such as Phrolova, who is one of the Overseers of the Fractsidus. The idea of new World Bosses, materials, and mechanics is also quite exciting.
Wuthering Waves Could Be Redirecting Its Attention Too Soon
On the downside, with Version 1.4 confirmed to last nearly 50 days, the long stretch without major updates could leave some players unsatisfied. WhileWuthering WavesVersion 1.3was similarly lengthy at 46 days, fewer details have been shared with the player base, making it harder to stay excited. For example, while some speculate that a New Year’s event might align with Version 2.0, Kuro Games hasn’t officially confirmed anything.
Additionally, some players who have grown comfortable with Huanglong, or those who joined the game later, may not feel ready to move on to a new region. While no one is forced to complete quests or objectives, an abundance of them can still feel overwhelming. Furthermore,Wuthering Waveshas had its shaky moments, particularly at launch, and delving into a new nation without being fully prepared could result in a gameplay experience that isn’t as polished. There’s also a chance that some players may simply not enjoy it.
“Delving into a new nation without being fully prepared could result in a gameplay experience that isn’t as polished.”
Overall, despite the potential drawbacks, progressing into the next major chapter ofWuthering Wavesis an ambitious move and an important milestone in the game’s progression. At the end of the day, this is a necessary step if Kuro Games wants to continuethe story of Solaris-3. Moving through all six nations, and eventually reaching the celestial dimension, said to be a tier above the mortal realm, will open up new opportunities for both narrative depth and gameplay expansion, keeping the experience fresh and engaging for the ever-growing player base.
