If you want to get to max level fastas a member of the Alliance,WoW Classicplayers need to know the optimal route to follow when questing. The best Alliance leveling route inWoW Classicmostly takes place throughout the Eastern Kingdoms, but there are a few notable questing hubs in Kalimdor zones, too.

Questing is the fastest way to level inWoW Classic, though it’s not a bad idea to rotate some Dungeons in there along your leveling journey – generally, just grinding Dungeons is slower than questing, but if you get Quests thattake you into Dungeonsthey can be great for a boost to XP and gear upgrades. This guide explains the best leveling route AllianceWoW Classicplayers can take to find quests appropriate for each level bracket.

Alliance – Level 1 to Level 15 Guide

Complete Your Starting Zone & Two Secondary Zones

The best way to begin leveling inWoW Classicfor both factions is tocomplete your race’s starting zone and your faction’s secondary zones.Completing your starting zone questsshould get you to about level 10 or 11, after which you should progress to the closest secondary zone.

After completing the first few set of quests in your race’s corresponding secondary zone, you should be at about level 15 or 16. At this point, you will start getting quests that are too high of a level to complete alone.

Duskwood Darkshire Front Entrance

If you have a group, continue questing in your secondary zone until you reach about level 16, but if you play alone, consider moving to another race’s secondary zone to pick up level-appropriate quests to get to this point.

BecauseNight Elves start so far away from the rest of the Alliance, you will either have to do adeathrun through the Wetlandsto reach Dun Morogh from Menethil Harbor (via the boat in Auberdine), or get someone to summon you to these distant secondary zones.

Alliance – Level 15 to Level 30 Guide

At Level 16, you’re able to eithermove to the next level of zones, which are usually connected to the secondary questing zones listed above,or continue questing in other race’s secondary zones. If you run out of quests you can complete in Westfall before reaching level 20, head to Loch Modan (and vice versa).

Night Elf players who are finishing up in Darkshore can make the run to Loch Modan forsome extra level-appropriate quests.

At about level 20 you should be ready to continue toeither the Redridge Mountains or Duskwood.

Alliance players are lucky because Westfall, Redridge Mountains, and Duskwood are very close to each other and have quests that lead players throughout all three areas. The fastest way to get to around level 25 is to bring your character to this area (which is also conveniently close to Stormwind) and rotate between these three zones.

At about level 25, you can also start totake on quests in the Wetlands as you finish up Redridge and Duskwood. Towards the end of the 20s you can start topick up quests in Hillsbrad Foothills, though you will have to travel through the higher-level zone of the Arathi Highlands to pick up these level-appropriate quests.

Alliance – Level 30 to Level 40 Guide

Stranglethorn, Arathi Highlands, Desolace, Dustwallow Marsh

After finishing Redridge and Duskwood, keep questing in the Wetlands and the Arathi Highlands through to the early level 30s. Around this point, you should be able to start picking up quests in theArathi Highlandsand the dreadedStranglethorn Vale.

Start with the Arathi Highlands because it’s so close to the Hillsbrad Foothills, then head all the way south to Stranglethorn Vale to begin your rumble in the jungle.

Stranglethorn remains arelevant leveling zone inWoW Classicuntil the mid-level 40s, so be prepared to spend a lot of time here. Enter from southern Duskwood to pick up Hemet Nesingwary’s quests before you head to Booty Bay for the majority of remaining Stranglethorn quests at this level.

In the mid-to-late 30s, the best place to level as an Alliance player isDesolace. It can be a real pain to get here, though, as you have to go through Horde territory to get there. Once you get the Flight Point at Nigel’s Point, though, you can fly here from Darnassus/Ashenvale.

Take the boat from Booty Bay to Ratchet, then head west across the Barrens to reach the Stonetalon Mountains. Continue northwest through this zone until you get about halfway to the FP – a path leads south through a small forest into Desolace, right next to Nigel’s Point.

Leveling in Stranglethorn and Desolace can be annoying in this level bracket, but you canmake things a bit faster by setting your Hearthstone to Ratchet. From here, you can fly to Nigel’s Point via the FPs in Ashenvale and Azshara, and take the boat to Booty Bay for Stranglethorn quests.

Alliance – Level 40 to Level 50 Guide

Stranglethorn, Feralas, Badlands, Tanaris, Hinterlands, Searing Gorge

After spending some time in Desolace, andafter completing most of the lower-level quests in Stranglethorn, you should be around Level 40. From here, the best Alliance questing zones you should head to next is toFeralasand theBadlands.

You can get to Feralas by going to the far south of Desolace, which leads to the main Alliance stronghold in the area. Grab the FP to get back easily, and continue into the early level 40s in this zone.

Headback to Stranglethorn Vale at around Level 42, where you can finish the remaining STV quests for a few more levels in the low 40s. Once youstart to run out of quests, head to the southern edge of Loch Modan to enterThe Badlands. There are not as many Alliance quests as there are Horde quests here, but it should still get you to the mid-40s.

For the latter half of the 40 level bracket, Alliance leveling becomes very spread out.Tanarisis the best place to start, as you’re able to go from Feralas through Thousand Needles to reach Gadgetzan, a veritable hub of quests. On the other side of the world, though,The Hinterlandsprovides some good mid-to-late 40s quests, and theSearing Gorgewill take you to Level 50.

Alliance – Level 50 to Level 60 Guide

Felwood, Blasted Lands, Un’Goro, Both Plaguelands, Winterspring

From level 50 to 60,WoWleveling methods become a lot more grindy. That’s because in these late levels theamount of XP it takes to level upincreases significantly – what once took around 8 or 9 quests to fill up will now take around 20 quests to get enough XP for a level up.

Because of this, in the last ten levels before theWoW Classicmax level of 60, you mustrotate between just about all available questing zones.

Start off inFelwoodfrom the late 40s, and start rotating in quests inUn’Goro Craterin the early 50s. After finishing everything you can do in Felwood, focus on completingquests in Un’Goro until around Level 53. Then, it’s time to spend some time in the Eastern Kingdoms.

You can also begin to level in Silithus as you reach max level, but the majority of content in this zone early inWoW Classicis locked behind the opening of Ahn’Quiraj.

From the mid-level 50s to max level, you will spend almost all of your time in theBlasted Lands, the Eastern and Western Plaguelands, and Winterspring.

Start with the Blasted Lands and start questing in theEastern Plaguelandsat the same time – you may need to learn several Flight Paths between these two distant locations to travel back and forth in the mid-50s. Once you reach about Level 56, you’re able to continue into theWestern Plaguelands.

In thefinal levels before reaching 60you will be spending most of your time questing in both Plaguelands, butWinterspringalso has some quests for Alliance players on the other side of the world. To get to Winterspring, you must go through Felwood through the Furbolg cave in the far northeast.

After getting through most of the quests in theBlasted Lands, both Plaguelands, and Winterspring, you should be at max level– if you run out of quests, consider doing some Blackrock Depths or Spire dungeon runs to push you through to level 60.
