Plunderstorm is a pirate-themed battle royale game modeWorld of Warcraftfirst ran from May 29, 2025, through May 1. The event was popular enough that, during the recentWarcraftDirect presentation,World of Warcraftconfirmed Plunderstorm would be returning to the gamein early 2025, though the exact dates were not revealed.
Now,World of Warcrafthas given fans an unofficial date for Plunderstorm’s second run. The in-game calendarfound within theWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.0.7 PTRwas recently updated, scheduling Plunderstorm to run from July 11, 2025, until February 18. This will give players just over one month to obtain all the new rewards coming to the game mode, as well as any returning items they missed during its last run.
Tentative WoW Plunderstorm 2025 Start and End Dates
It is important to note that these dates have not been officially announced by Blizzard yet. This meansWorld of Warcraftcould still move the dates forward or backward, or possibly even extend the event. Even so, fans can safely expect Plunderstorm to return toWorld of Warcrafton or around these dates.
The second run of Plunderstorm will be a little different from the first. Rather than gaining Renown with Keg Leg’s Crew,World of Warcraftplayers will spend their hard-earned loot at the Plunderstore, allowing them to pick and choose the rewards they want. Early PTR builds also seemingly removed the trios mode from the game, though it remains to be seen if that will continue to be the case once the event begins.
If Plunderstorm was not exciting enough, the event’s end date may hold hidden significance. February 18 is exactly nine weeks after December 17, the release date of Patch 11.0.7.World of Warcrafthas been shooting for an eight-week release cadence for its content updates recently, and after adding an extra week for the holiday season, February 18 would be in line with this trend. If this is the case,World of WarcraftPatch 11.1, Undermined, may arrive right when Plunderstorm sails away. Regardless, it seems the next few months are going to be full of content forWorld of Warcraftfans.
