World of Warcraftgame director Ion Hazzikostas recently gave players a look at what 2025 has in store for TheWar Withinexpansion with a new content roadmap. The content planned forWorld of Warcraftwas revealed toward the end of theWarcraft30th Anniversary Direct broadcast and showed that a few features would be returning to the game.

To start the segment, Hazzikostas confirmed thatWorld of Warcraft’sSiren Isle content updatewould launch on December 17 after over a month of public test realm (PTR) feedback. Siren Isle will take players to a previously unused map created during theBattle for Azerothexpansion, now reworked to suitThe War Withinstory arc. As players explore the Siren Isle, Blizzard revealed that the Turbulent Timeways event fromDragonflightwould return in Patch 11.0.7, offering Timewalking rewards and a bonus to experience points gained, which will make leveling alternate characters much quicker than normal.

Along with reiterating that Plunderstorm would also come back for a second run, Hazzikostas gaveWorld of Warcraftfans a look at what Blizzard has in store for 2025.Hazzikostas pulled back the curtain onWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.1, Undermined, which will take players to the titular Undermine, the fabled underground capital city of the Goblins. The Undermined update will launch in early 2025, and its main features include a new raid, dungeon, arena PVP map, and a vehicle that can move faster than any ground mount in the game. Although the Goblins have a long-standing reputation as a comedic and temperamental race inWorld of Warcraft, Hazzikostas said that the events that play out in the Undermine will tie intoThe War Withinand the ongoing conflict with Xal’atath, the main antagonist of the expansion.

Though Xal’atath has not been seen since her plans in Azj’kahet were foiled, the ensuing 11.1.5 content update will include a void-themed twist.The Horrific Visions fromBattle for Azerothwill return in Patch 11.1.5, giving solo players a new challenge when the patch drops in the spring. Another Spring 2025 update, Patch 11.1.7, will see more story content and another run of the Turbulent Timeways, with Patch 11.2 due in the summer. In-game holidays such as Winter Veil, Children’s Week, and Brewfest will be reworked in 2025, and may offer new items forWorld of Warcraftplayers to collect.

Thenext chapter of The Worldsoul Saga, theMidnightexpansion, will be fully revealed next summer, and continued updates toThe War Withinwill be made throughout the year. Only time will tell how the 2025 roadmap forWorld of Warcraftwill play out.
