However, Blizzard shocked viewers with a new trailer to close out theWarcraftDirect broadcast. The short teaser trailer confirmed that, after over two decades of continued service,player housing would arrive inWorld of Warcraft: Midnight, the second expansion of the ongoing Worldsoul Saga.
Althoughthe 2025 roadmap had been updatedto account for a new zone in Patch 11.2,World of Warcraftmade another clarification shortly after.First reported by Wowhead, player housing inWorld of Warcraftwas included on the roadmap with a new icon featuring a home and theWarcraftseries symbol. The icon was then placed on the Winter 2025 portion of the roadmap. Previously, a yellow-colored hearthstone icon was in the Winter 2025 slot, which caused some confusion among World of Warcraft fans. However, Blizzard cleared the air with the new player housing icon on the roadmap. Given that player housing was touted as a Midnight expansion feature, the new icon on the 2025 roadmap may also indicate when eitherMidnightwill be released, or a pre-expansion patch that would include player housing.

WhileBlizzard chose to be cryptic with the player housing reveal, more updates for the highly requested feature will likely come closer to the release ofMidnight. Like other major expansion features, theWorld of Warcraftdevelopment team said player feedback will be considered before and after player housing goes live. Although other MMORPGs have different systems for player housing, such asFinal Fantasy 14’s dedicated wards and plots, it remains to be seen howWorld of Warcraft’s player housing system will be implemented.
However,World of Warcraftfans will havecontent from Patch 11.1and beyond to consume before the player housing update goes live. Only time will tell when Blizzard will reveal further housing information.
