Though it may seem likeDisney Dreamlight Valleyhas an infinite well to pull from, even Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios only have so many characters. One ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s main draws is its consistent addition of new characters and content. The game may have only been out for two years so far, but ifDisney Dreamlight Valleycontinues to add content from new franchises at this rate, it may eventually run out of steam.

Because there’s a limited number ofcharactersDisney Dreamlight Valleycan pullfrom Walt Disney Animation and Pixar, Gameloft may turn to other properties under the Disney umbrella. If this likely inevitable change occurs, though, Gameloft must play its cards right so it doesn’t disillusionDisney Dreamlight Valley’s current player base.

Of the fifty-eight unique Walt Disney Animation Studios and eighteen Pixar Studios films and franchises available,Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas adapted seventeen Disney projectsand five Pixar projects. Many upcoming projects from both Disney and Pixar are sequels of existing projects from both brands, lowering the rate of new projectsDisney Dreamlight Valleycan prove from. Nevertheless,Disney Dreamlight Valleystill has plenty of ground to cover before implementing content from Marvel and Star Wars, but it must be noted that the game’s rapid addition of characters could make this change happen faster than one may think.

Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas two expansion passes currently. Both A Rift in Timeand the new Storybook Valeexpansion pass are confirmed to add five new characters each to the game, though one member of the Storybook Vale pass has yet to be announced. On top of these five confirmed characters,Disney Dreamlight Valleytypically receives a new update every season with one or two new characters. If Gameloft added two new characters in each of these updates on top of five characters being added in an annual DLC expansion pass, thirteen new characters would be added toDisney Dreamlight Valleyevery year. That’s the same number of unique films and franchises the game has yet to add from Pixar.

It would be unreasonable to expectDisney Dreamlight Valleyto purposefully tuneits updates to introduce as many new films and franchises as possible. After all, the game tends to add multiple characters from a film or franchise at the same time. But, ifDisney Dreamlight Valleycontinues character addition at this rate, the math proves that Gameloft might have to start pulling from Marvel and Star Wars in a few years.

Marvel and Star Wars may seem like odd fits forDisney Dreamlight Valley, but choosing cute and animated characters may make additions from these franchises feel less off-putting. For example, adding Grogu and Din Djarinas characters could be a more viable choice forDisney Dreamlight Valley,as Mandalorians don’t show their faces, therefore distinguishing Mando from other Disney characters while not equating him to his actor Pedro Pascal, and Grogu has become a mascot similar to Stitch. Marvel additions could include Groot and Rocket Raccoon, as, like Din Djarin, they do not have actor’s faces directly tied to their character design.

A more reasonable approach to warmDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers to the idea ofincluding Marvel and Star Warsin the game is by introducing new furniture, clothing, and motifs based on these brands. Themed Star Paths to promote upcoming Marvel and Star Wars projects that add these items could be the perfect start rather than springing these new worlds on fans out of nowhere.

Disney Properties Outside of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Still Have a Chance

There’s always a chance thatDisney Dreamlight Valleymay finally pull from its various animated TV series or direct-to-DVD spinoffs and sequels. Characters from animated Disney shows likePhineas and FerborGravity Fallswould likely be hits. Many speculated that theFrost and Fairies Star Pathwould reference theTinkerbelldirect-to-DVD films, though this prediction ended up false. However, Vidia, Rosetta, Silvermist, and their other fairy friends could be great additions to the Valley. No one can say for sure ifDisney Dreamlight Valleywill pull from any of these brands, but given their smaller fan bases in comparison to juggernauts like Marvel and Star Wars, it does seem more likely for those huge properties to enter Dreamlight Valley first.
