Where to Farm Gold in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

While every enemy encounter you complete inDragon Quest 3 Remakewill earn you gold, there are a few special enemies throughout the game that you should focus on if you are looking tofarm large amounts of gold. The amount of gold you earn will increase greatly the more you progress throughDQIII Remake, but so do the prices.

This means that, while buying weapons and armor is a better idea early in the game, there will always be extremely powerful items for sale, so farming gold is always useful. Here, we will cover the best locations to farm gold at each stage of the game.

Early Game Gold Farming in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:

The earliest sections ofDQIII Remakeare the only areas that don’t feature enemies that stand out to such a degree that they lend themselves to farming. During the early-game, new players will be learning the mechanics, and returning players will be quickly making their way through to greener pastures. For the sake of this guide, we will consider this section to end after theSkyfell Towerdungeon, and the game’s first real boss,Robbin ‘Ood.

During this section of the game, you will receive a small amount of gold for every encounter. Pay attention to which areas you seem to have the easiest time getting through quickly, and if you are looking for gold this early in the game, spend as much time as necessary quickly defeating the easier enemies. However, the better option, is to get through these sections quickly, and reach your first realgold-farming location inDQIII:thePyramid.

ThePyramid dungeonin Ibis is the third main dungeon inDragon Quest 3 Remake, and the first to feature an enemy that drops far more gold than the average foe. This enemy is theBag O’ Laughs.

EachBag O' Laughswill drop several times the gold as other enemies you’ll encounter leading up to thePyramid. This enemy will be found throughout the Pyramid, but will become even more prevalent on 3F and above. The Bag O' Laughs is a tough foe when you first encounter it, so you may need to spend some time leveling up before you can truly use them to farm gold. This enemy is not weak to any offensive spell we could find, but they have a low resistance toFizzleandSnooze. Focus on physical attacks, with Critical Strikes being the most useful. Once you feel confident in your ability to defeat the Bag o' Laughs, they will be thebest way to farm gold early in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.

Bag O' Laughs will also be found inKidnapper’s Cave, the next major dungeon after the Pyramid. After that, there will be better locations to find during the mid-to-late game sections.

Aside from actually farming gold in the early sections ofDQIII, there aresteps you can take to prepare for much better farming abilities later in the game. Take some time to level up a Monster Wrangler, Thief, and Merchant. All three of these vocations have skills that can help greatly with farming gold. As soon as you can, enter the firstMonster Arenafights inRomaria. The arena can be extremely profitable throughout the game. We’ll explore that more later in the guide.

TheTower of Transcendenceis a useful location, both for farming gold, andleveling up fast inDragon Quest 3 Remake. At the first level, you’ll get around 100 Gold Coins every encounter. For this stage of the game, this amount of gold will add up quickly. This is also a great time to begin adding aMerchantto your party.

The Merchant will sometimes find extra gold at the end of encounters. It seems like it is a high Luck attribute that increases the chances of this occurring. At the Tower of Transcendence, our Merchant frequently doubled the gold earned in about a third of our encounters. To add a Merchant to your party, you can create a new character atPatty’s Party Planning Placein Aliahan, orchange one of your current party members at Alltrades Abbey.

About 2/3 of the way throughDragon Quest 3 Remake, you’ll reach theMaw of the Necrogond. Here, you’ll begin to encounter a variant of the Bag O' Laughs called theGoodybag. These enemies drop a large amount of gold, and will be your next best option for farming, at least until the late game sections.

You’ll find multiple Gold Golems in the southeast section of Alefgard (mainly in the wooded areas outsideRimuldar), and in the area’s main dungeons, all leading up toZoma’s Citadel. More Gold Farming Methods in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

While the main method offarming gold inDrafgon Quest 3 Remakeis through repeatedly defeating certain enemies, there are a few more methods that are worth mentioning.

Monster Arenas:

The first method is theMonster Arena. The Monster Arena offers gold rewards that get larger with each tier you complete. There are 11 tiers in all, with the final tiers offering more than 100,000 gold each. For this reason, you should consider bringing a Monster Wrangler with you in your party from the beginning. This vocation is the best for capturing friendly monsters, which are needed for the arena.

After the first time you complete each tier, you can still complete them again, though the rewards will be considerably less. Still, this is a reliable method for farming gold inDQIII Remake. You can find Monster Arenas in the following locations:

Dragon Quest 3 HD 2D Modes

To unlock the Jipang Monster Arena, you must reach and defeatXenlonat the top ofCitadel Tower. This is accessible during the post-game only. After beating Xenlon, the dragon will grant you a wish. Ask for anew Monster Arena.

Thief Vocation:

The Thief is a great location for collecting the large amount of gold found in treasure chests throughout the game. Around level 14, you’ll unlock theNose for Treasure ability. This allows you to learn how many treasure chests are in your vicinity.

Around level 20, you’ll unlock theSnoopspell, which shows the exact location of nearby treasure. Collecting every treasure will not only earn you a large amount of gold, but a huge collection of items to sell.
