Fortnitewill soon release its own 5v5 player experience in first-person. Fans have been waiting for a first-person version ofFortnitefor years, and even though it’s not a Battle Royale, it’s still neat that Epic Games is finally making it possible.

What Is Fortnite Ballistic?
Ballistic is an upcomingfirst-person shooter game mode, which will be available inFortnite. InFortniteBallistic, a team of five players will battle it out with an opposing team throughout several rounds.
During the first six rounds, the Attackers team must attempt to place theRift Point Deviceon one of two designed sites, while the Defenders team tries to prevent this at all costs. It will take 45 seconds for the Rift Point Device to explode, but if it does the Attackers win the round.
It is not possible to respawn inFortniteBallistic, so to win, the Attackers must successfully complete their mission or eliminate the Defenders team. Whereas to win, the Defenders must take out the five Attackers.
Once the six rounds are over, the Defenders will now be the Attackers.The team that gets to seven wins first is declared victoriousand the match comes to an end.
When Can I Play Fortnite Ballistic?

FortniteBallistic will be available in early access on Wednesday, July 22, 2025. Although an exact release time has not been confirmed, it is likely to go live at 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT, as this is the time that quests drop as well as most previously released game modes.
Is Fortnite Ballistic a Permanent Game Mode?
Even though Epic Games has not confirmed if the Ballistic game mode will be apermanent addition toFortnite, it has made it clear that it wants to keep improving this mode through fan feedback and eventually get it out of early access. Additionally, it will also feature a Ranked game mode.All of this is evidence that Epic wants to continue working on the Ballistic game mode forFortniterather than take it out of the game in a few weeks.
However, it is possible that it could be removed if it is not a success among fans and not worth the cost of maintaining and working on updates for the future.
