Even the denizens ofStalker 2have to deal with money, and when it comes to dealing with economics in the Zone, players are likely to have a hard time. Prices are usually predatory and not everything is of high value. These could make progression a bit of a pain, especially in the beginning where money is tight and hard to come by.

Once you’ve finished yourfirst couple of missions inStalker 2,you should be free to run around and find your own fortune, whether it’s by doing jobs or selling goods to traders. The latter is especially lucrative, though it mostly depends on what you bother to exchange for cash. Here are some things to consider when selling items.

Selling an expensive batch of items in Stalker 2

Best Items To Sell In Stalker 2

The majority of items you’ll find while exploring the Zone are all useful to you one way or another, but sometimes, money is more valuable than keeping an extra gun or suit of armor, especially sinceupgrading and repairing gear inStalker 2can cost a fortune. As such, you’ll want to sell items according to this priority list (ranked from best to worst):

Artifacts

Artifacts can be sold for very lucrative prices, and in many cases, selling them is often better than using them. All Artifacts emit radiation when equipped, so unless your suit has strong radio resistance, you won’t be able to take advantage of an Artifact’s effects for long (if at all). However, it’s a good idea to keep some Artifacts for certain situations — if you know you’re going into an area with lots of thermal or electric anomalies, then bring an artifact that can help you withstand those damage types.

PDAs

Picking up a dead Stalker’s PDA will give you access to some of their personal notes and, more importantly, stash locations. All this information will immediately get stored in your own PDA, which means you may safely sell other PDAs for a small chunk of change.

Do not sell PDAs or other items with red check marks on them. These are key quest items, and selling them may soft lock your progression.

Weapons and Armor

Armor suits are often sold for high prices, and since you can only wear one, you can safely sell any extra suits you find once you get another with better base stats. Gettingthe Debut Suit near the beginning ofStalker 2means you can sell the default Leather Jacket and other Debut Suits you find later on, resulting in some easy cash.

Selling guns isn’t a completely bad idea. Merchants don’t accept weapons that are in terrible condition, but if you happen upon some that are Worn Out (indicated by a yellow durability icon) or even in peak condition, you may want to sell them for Coupons instead. Don’t bother repairing them, as this often results in a net loss for you.

If you’re struggling withinventory weight managementwhen trying to haul back used equipment, consider dropping worn out guns in favor of armor suits. The latter usually have better weight-sell price ratios.

Excess Food and Water

Food and water are surprisingly easy to come by. If you’ve been picking up every loaf of bread or can of beef during your travels, you’ll eventually find yourself with way too much food than you’re able to carry. While you should always keep some food in your inventory and stash at all times, having too much will just make inventory management more painful than it has to be. These items aren’t particularly valuable to traders, but money is money.

Ammunition

Like food and water, you’ll be finding a ton of ammunition during your travels. The problem here is that most of them will be useless to the guns you’re carrying, and depending on your preferences, you might end up not using them at all if you aren’t a fan of the guns that use them. If you have no intention of using sniper rifles, shotgun slug rounds, or NATO munitions, you might as well make your excess bullets useful by selling them.
