Those players who have spent time with the original game will likely have their own strategies, but for new players, decidinghow to use Seedscan be tough. At its most basic, the choice is between usingSeedson yourHerocharacter alone, or spreading them throughout your party. With that in mind, this guide will answer the question many new players will be asking:how should I use Seeds inDragon Quest 3 Remake?
Should I Use or Share Seeds in Dragon Quest 3 Remake?
Early inDragon Quest 3 Remake, players will begin to collect various stat-boostingSeeds.These Seeds come in several forms, including every main character stat. In fact,Dragon Quest 3 Remake’s pre-order bonuswill ensure those players that purchased the game early will have an abundance of Seeds to spend. However, even if you didn’t pre-order the game, you will find numerous seeds. The question is,how should you spend Seeds inDragon Quest 3 Remake?
The General Consensus:
Because the systems inDragon Quest 3 Remakeare so deep, there are various opinions about the best methods of usingSeeds. But the general consensus is thatnew players should spend their Seeds on the Hero.Because the Hero is the one constant in the party, it makes most sense for new players, who have not yet built up a strategy for perfecting their party, to simply use every Seed on that one character.
In our first playthrough, we assigned Seeds to the Hero alone for most of the game. About 2/3 of the way through, once we had a party set up the way we liked, we began to add Seeds to our party members in the areas that seemed the weakest. For example, ourMagenever really built great defenses, so anySeeds of Defencewere given to them.
When to Use Seeds in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:
Again, there are several views onwhen to use Seeds. Seasoned players will explain that you should wait touse Seeds until after hitting the stat cap, and the seeds can provide the best long-term benefits. This method would be the same whether you are using the Seeds on the Hero, or the whole party. However, this may not be the most helpful way to use Seeds for new players, especially on their first playthrough.
For the majority of our first playthrough, weassigned Seeds as soon as we got them. There is little doubt that this provided the best benefit for during the early game for a player trying to learn the ropes.
How to Get Seeds in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
There are several ways to get Seeds inDragon Quest 3 Remake. As mentioned earlier, the pre-order bonus includes several helpful Seeds. But players will have ample opportunity to find them in the game world. The most common method of finding Seeds is through exploration.
Where to Find Seeds in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:
Seeds are one of the most common forms of treasure inDragon Quest 3 Remake. As you explore, treasure can be found in four distinct items:
Treasure Chestsare self-explanatory. You will encounter Treasure Chests in just about every major dungeon or enemy location. ensure to thoroughly explore all locations, and you will often come out with Seeds. Treasure Chests can sometimes be found in towns and cities, but will usually require certain events to transpire before becoming accessible, such as the chests behind the counters at stores.
PotsandBarrelsare found in every location in the game. They can sometimes be tricky to spot, and are often purposefully placed in tricky locations. Not every pot and barrel can be interacted with. Check the images above to see the exact items to approach.Secret Areasare a great place to find Pots and Barrels with especially valuable items. These areas can be found when you notice things that look out of place in the overworld, like one large tree in a forest, or a rock structure alone in a desert. Many of these will be Secret Areas.
Buried Treasureis essentially a reward for those that cover every single area in a given location. There is often nothing marking these locations until you stand directly on them. They are often found in areas where vision is obscured, like behind walls or trees. If you are able, verify to slowly walk over every inch of ground, and you will usually be rewarded at least once.
Overworld Treasure Cachesare found in the area outside the main locations. When you exit a town or dungeon, you will find yourself in the open-world. You will often spot small areas that sparkle. Approach these caches to pick up multiple items.
While it is not guaranteed, it is possible to find Seeds in each of these locations. When youcreate a new character for your party, you will also receive several Seeds to spend. For new players, the option to let the game decide how to spend them is likely the best choice. Seasoned players can choose themselves.
