Last year, Blizzard releasedWarcraft Rumble, a mobile “tower offense” game inspired by classicWoWand the original RTS games. Players build teams consisting ofone iconicWarcraftLeadermini, alongside six units or spells, and then challenge maps, dungeons, and raids against familiar bosses, all rendered in a charming toy-like style.

Warcraft Rumble PC Beta Begins December 10
While the specifics for this new platform are not completely known,Hearthstoneis probably a good indication as to how it will work. Though the clients are updated independently of one another,Hearthstonefeatures full mobile and PC crossplay, and players have full access to their collections on both platforms.Warcraft Rumblewill likely do the same, letting players freely jump between PC and mobile, match with players from both platforms during both PvP, and team up withWarcraft Rumbleguild mates for PvE group content like raidsregardless of what they are playing on.
This platform expansion is huge news forWarcraft Rumble. The game has been going strong since its release, with regular updates and new minis released every month or so. However, its limitations on being mobile-only dissuaded many fans from giving it a shot. Now that gamers will soon be able to play on PC,Warcraft Rumblemay experience a resurgence of new players.
This wasn’t the onlyWarcraft Rumblenews featured in the Warcraft Direct. The mobile game also introduced the concept of Split Leaders, with the Season 1 mini, Sylvanas, being retroactively reworked into a Horde-Undead character. It also teased three new Leaders coming in the future that will use this mechanic: Malfurion Stormrage for the Alliance and thenew Cenarion family inWarcraft Rumble, Orgrim Doomhammer as Blackrock-Horde, and Anub’arak representing both the Beast and Undead factions. These Split Leaders count as units for both families, gaining all faction benefits from Dungeon Relics and other upgrades, appearing on the G.R.I.D. and in dungeons and tomes for both factions, and splitting guild credit from Arclight Surges and PvP. These new Leaders are a game-changer forWarcraft Rumble, and new PC players will want to be familiar with them before they dive into the chaos.
