The Nintendo Switch version ofVampire Survivorshas received a new patch to fix several issues that arose after the release of theOde to Castlevaniacrossover DLC. On October 31,Vampire Survivorsintroduced theOde to CastlevaniaDLC, which added over 40 new weapons with evolutions, 20 characters, and 36 musical tracks from theCastlevaniaseries, including iconic pieces like “Requiem,” “Vampire Killer,” and “Bloody Tears.” The DLC also features an additionalCastlevania-themed map, the largest added to the game so far. Poncle hinted at the possibility of adding more content to the DLC, such as an Adventure Mode, though nothing has been set in stone.
The release of theOde to Castlevaniacrossover came with a few technical problems. On launch day, Poncle posted on Twitter to acknowledge several issues with the Switch version ofVampire Survivorsand announced that a patch was in the works. The update has finally arrived, addressing several problems, such as crashes when loading specific adventure stages or when the game indicates high memory usage. In addition, a bug preventing the librarian merchant from spawning was fixed, along with an issue that stopped players from unlocking the Ferryman and Ebony Crimson Stone Relic, bothsecrets found in theOde to CastlevaniaDLC.
The developer has confirmed that another patch forVampire Survivorswill roll out by the end of November. While it appears to focus on the Switch version, numerous comments on Poncle’s Twitter post highlight bugs on other consoles as well. Poncle previously revealed aVampire Survivorsroadmap for 2024. Though the roadmap didn’t specify crossovers, it included several updates implemented this year, such as co-op, Laboratory, Darkanas, Honey Moon, and Those People.
In 2024,Vampire Survivorsreceived two DLCs beforeOde to Castlevania. The first was theEmergency MeetingDLC, a crossover withAmong Us. The second,Operation Guns, partnered the bullet heaven withContra, another classic Konami series.Vampire Survivor’sContracrossoverlaunched on May 9, just beforeOde to Castlevania. All signs point to the game continuing its trend of introducing crossovers, even if they occasionally bring new bugs with them.
While Poncle hasn’t shared a roadmap for 2025 yet, fans are already speculating. Many believeVampire Survivorsmight crossover withBaldur’s Gate 3. This speculation stems from Swen Vincke, head of Larian Studios, who posted a Twitter poll asking ifBaldur’s Gate 3andVampire Survivorsshould collaborate. Both poll options were positive, and with nearly 20,000 votes cast, the overwhelming majority of fans showed enthusiasm for the idea.
