Summary
Bosch: Legacywill air its final season in March 2025, but the fans are fighting hard to save it with a petition on change.org. This isn’t the first time the fans have fought to save Harry Bosch, after a petition was launched in 2020 to save the originalBoschseries from ending. The campaign was signed by 10,529 fans, and it was instrumental in persuading Amazon to give the go ahead for the spin-off,Bosch: Legacy. As it stands, the SaveBosch: Legacypetition has 12,866 signatures, after being launched just three months ago.Surely this means Amazon must listen to the fans and give them what they want: more Harry Bosch solo stories.
Bosch: Legacywas canceled back in September 2024, but Amazon tried to trick fans into thinking it was somehow by design that Harry Bosch’s solo run was coming to an end to make way for the upcomingBallardspin-off series. However, fans saw through the PR spin, and theSaveBosch: Legacypetitionis creating more noise than the previous one. It’s only a matter of time before Amazon will have to take notice and go back on their decision to cancel it.
The Original Save Bosch Petition Was Successful And Led To Amazon Launching Bosch: Legacy
For some reason, Amazon doesn’t seem to realize how instrumental Harry Bosch has been in building their streaming platform from the ground up. The originalBoschseries was their flagship show, and ran for seven successful seasons before it came to an end in 2021. The creative team were hungry for more series and this sentiment was echoed by the fans.Michael Connelly’s book seriesstill had plenty more stories for the team to adapt for television, with Harry Bosch’s post LAPD career as a private investigator yet to be explored.Amazon eventually relented due to the noise being created by the SaveBoschpetition launched by the fans, and gave the go ahead for the spin-off series,Bosch: Legacy.
On July 31, 2025, the Save Bosch campaign manager, Clare Costa, announced the good news aboutBosch: Legacyonchange.org:
Dear Team Bosch,
Just a quick note from me to thank you so, so much for engaging in our campaign to save Bosch and for signing the petition. I’m sure you’ve heard the fantastic news of the Bosch spin off on IMDbTV and I have personally heard from Titus Welliver and producer Henrik Bastin that our loudness on social media made a huge difference in the decision-making, so give yourself a big pat on the back!
Fans rightly deserve credit for all the hard work they put in to saveBosch, and convince Amazon to give the go ahead to the spin-off series.Bosch: Legacywas launched onAmazon’s ad supported Freevee platformin 2022 and to nobody’s surprise, itbecame a huge hit, pulling in a bigger viewership than the original show. So, without the fans, none of this would have been possible. The fans' hard work was also acknowledged by one of the show’s main cast members, Madison Lintz, (who playsMaddie Bosch), when she signed the petition to save the show:
I’m signing because I love being employed!! In all seriousness, thank you so so much for the constant support, Bosch wouldn’t be what it is without y’all. Thank you, thank you.
