Soul Eaters Anime and Manga Diverge

A Tale of Two Endings

While the anime and manga were fundamentally the same show, since the anime forSoul Eater hadcaught up to the manga, the plots of the two series started to diverge around Episode 38. In a similar case tothe original release ofFullmetal Alchemist, the endings ofSoul Eaterthe anime, andSoul Eaterthe manga are completely different. Additionally, since the manga ran for quite a few years after the original release of the anime, tons of content from the manga has yet to be brought to anime form.

Due to the amount of powerful and engaging content thattheSoul Eatermangahas to offer,Soul Eaterdeserves a full reboot. Giving the show a second shot at an anime would not only translate the manga content that fans want to see on the big screen but also fix the ending of the original anime, which was disappointing, to say the least. In fact, with well over 100 chapters in the finished manga, and the popularity ofFire Force,Atsushi Ohkubo’s other manga,Soul Eater, has a good shot of succeeding in the modern era of Anime.
