A PC case is intended tohouse all the components, channel proper airflow, and showcase all the flashy computer parts. Anyone putting together a list of PC components must check out the Corsair 5000X RGB QL Edition, which has dropped to $130 ahead of Black Friday. This is the beefed-up version of the Corsair 4000X, yet smaller than the full-tower Corsair 7000X. Corsair cases are built to last, as they don’t cheap out while constructing them, meaning they can charge a premium for their products. For $130, this might be my new favorite PC case for this manufacturer.
The Breakdown
A glance over the spec sheet
This mid-tower case supports up to an e-ATX motherboard and measures 248mm x 520mm. It comes pre-installed with four QL120 RGB fans: 3x120mm fans on the front for intake and 1x120mm fan on the rear for exhaust. Users canadd up to 10 fansin total with the option ofmounting a 360mm radiatorvertically to the right of the motherboard and on the top of the case. There are three slots behind the case for the SATA drives and two slots for HDDs, which should be enough for most users.
The case also makes life easy for the user by providing a SATA-powered PWM fan hub and an RGB hub, without taking away the precious space on the motherboard. Corsair also helps the user with cable management by providing plenty of Velcro straps and zip ties to efficiently route the wires along the back of the case. This case can fit a GPU as long as 400mm, and also has provisions to mount the GPU vertically using a riser cable. The front I/O includes two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, one audio port, a power button, and a restart button.
Corsair 5000X RGB QL Edition
The Corsair 5000X RGB QL Edition is a compelling mid-tower chassis built with premium quality materials and is spacious enough to accommodate big GPUs, coolers, and motherboards. The case comes with pre-installed RGB PWM fans, a dedicated PWM repeater, and an iCUE Node Core to control the fans from a single place. Cable management is excellent, and the airflow is also great.
Verdict
Spoiler: Buy It!
While fishtank-style cases are popular these days, some of us are into the more traditional tempered glass panel cases, like the one discussed in this article. For $130, this case, along with the four included 120mm RGB fans, offers great value and reliability. The flexibility of modifying the case for better airflow and efficient cable management makes it a foolproof recommendation for any PC builder.
