Dark Souls 3is a highly acclaimed action role-playing title whose dark theme and gripping gameplay has captured the adoration of many. Why Dark Souls 3 Should Not Be Remade
While a remake ofDark Souls 3would presumably receive the same graphical improvements thatDemon’s Soulsgot, the visuals alone do not justify an overhaul. Even when compared to today’s standards, the world and character design of the third game in theDark Soulsseries still holds up quite well. As one of theFromSoftware games with the best narrative, combat feel, boss battles, etc., it is still a game whose quality allows it to match or surpass that of modern Soulslike titles, meaning a remake could ultimately feel unnecessary. While it can be said that remakingDark Souls 3could make it even greater, there is the possibility that whatever changes it receives will make it worse, leaving a stain on the third game of the series that shouldn’t even be there.
The best thing about eachDark Soulsgameis that they all balance empowering gameplay with a proper challenge;Dark Souls 3can be seen as one of the best examples of a title that defines tough but fair gameplay. Even after eight years, fans still hold it in high regard, which makes it a logical choice for being remade in the same way asDemon’s Souls. But whether it will or not depends entirely on FromSoftware. As the masterpiece of a game that it is, perhaps there’s no need to improve upon it.
