The24 Movieis officially happening, but updates have been a bit non-existent ever since it was announced in July 2024. Fans are hoping Kiefer Sutherland returns as the eponymous hero, Jack Bauer, butthere’s another hero character who could possibly join him in the new movie.24: Legacywas a 2017 spin-off from the main series, but it was canceled after only one season. Corey Hawkins played ex-marine, Eric Carter, and he was billed as Jack Bauer’s replacement.
Despite the negativity towards the spin-off,Carter was a good leading man, and he would be a welcome addition to the big screen version.24isn’t the same withoutJack Bauer, and this is why he probably will return for the movie version.24: Legacyexisted in the same universe, and Eric Carter is still out there somewhere fighting bad guys, so its quite feasible he could return to help Jack Bauer. Carter had dealings with Tony Almeida, and this link could see him return in the big screen adventure.

When24: Legacylaunched on Fox in 2017, fans weren’t sold on the idea of a Bauer-less bad day. However, this was a shame as the new protagonist,Eric Carter, was a really good leading character,and if the show wasn’t weighed down by the expectations of the 24 fan base, he could’ve been a compelling character on television for years to come. His backstory in the military was interesting, and his action skills were impressive. Having said that, it’s a results business and viewing figures just weren’t good enough to justify a sophomore season, and24: Legacywas canceled.
WIth the official announcement of the24 Movieback in July 2024, it re-ignited the discussion about possible returning characters.There are the obvious fan favorites like Chloe O’Brian and Tony Almeida, but a character like Eric Carter really needs to enter the equation as a potential returnee,even though he didn’t feature in the main series. The24franchise doesn’t have that many legacy characters still left alive, so it would be good to bring back as many live ones as possible to give the audience a strong supporting cast to complimentKiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Carter never appeared on-screen with Bauer, with the latter not featuring in24: Legacy, but seeing these two heroic characters team up would be really fun.Corey Hawkins was a good protagonist in24: Legacy, but he might be more effective as a supporting character, with Sutherland’s Jack Bauer taking the lead once againin the big screen adventure.
Tony Almeida Could Be The Potential Link That Sees Eric Carter Team Up With Jack Bauer In The 24 Movie
24: Legacyprimarily focused on brand-new characters, as Eric Carter and CTU attempted to thwart apotential global threat. However, fan favorite legacy character,Tony Almeida, did make an appearance in the spin-off series and featured in a key storyline involving Eric Carter.It was a good way to link the two shows together, and it also gaveTony Almeida a redemption type arc. He was now a mercenary working with CTU director, Rebecca Ingram, after his escape from prison in the short film,24: Solitary. He fought against Eric Carter until the pair agreed to a cease-fire of sorts. Carter matched Almeida in every department, and showed that he does possess the action skills to be a force in the24universe.
Tony Almeida could provide the link that sees Eric Carter play a part in the24 Movie, and subsequently lead to an introduction to his predecessor, Jack Bauer.At the end of24: Live Another Day, Jack Bauer was heading off to an uncertain future in Russian captivity. When his services are inevitably needed in the24: Movie,Jack Bauer will need to be released, and a possible way of achieving this would be if someone broke him out. Almeida and Carter could potentially join forces to help Jack escape, and the trio could then assist with saving the world. All three men have links with CTU, and possess the particular set of skills to fight against terrorism. Fans already know what a Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida team up looks like, but it would be an exciting prospect to see Eric Carter join Bauer in an epic battle of good vs evil.
