Vampires have always been apopular topic in mediaand literature, with many interpretations of the creatures existing all around the world. Anime is no different and has a fascination with Vampires too. But, not as much love is shown to those tasked with taking the vampires down.
Enter: Vampire hunters.
Just as epic vampires exist, there are a plethora of impressive vampire hunters who stand toe to toe with these supernatural beings. Their powers vary, but they are all impressive in various ways. Here are the most powerful across anime.
Mary is one of the minor characters fromThe Eminence In Shadowseason 2 who was a servant of Elisabeth. Mary is avampire slayerwho is in search of her master and will protect any humans who are being harmed by vampires.
Mary gets stronger when she drinks blood as evidenced by episode 2 of the 2nd season ofEminence in Shadow,where she drank some of Claire’s blood. This greatly amplifies her powers and makes her a strong opponent. However, there are limits as shown in her loss to Juggernaut.
Blood+is based on a manga of the same name and has some other adaptations, including the movieBlood: The Last Vampire —and the more popularBlood C. Saya Otonashi is the main character who discovers that her blood is instrumental in the destruction of the creatures known as Chiropterans.
Saya is able to take down some pretty powerful Chiropterans includingDiva, her sisterand very powerful monster. Saya possesses great reflexes and is very skillful with a sword. The sword in question is a powerful samurai sword which is curved in such a way as to let her cut herself and spread her blood all over the sword. This enhanced its abilities and made it an even more dangerous weapon.
Trevor Belmont is from Netflix’sCastlevania,which is based on therenowned series of video games. The show follows the adventures of Trevor and his allies and their quest to defeat Dracula and other vampiric forces.
Trevor is mostly apathetic to humans, since his family was dealt with wrongly by the church, and the humans they had helped over the years didn’t seem to care. The Belmonts, once a noble family of vampire hunters, were soon reduced to nothing, and Trevor became a vagrant and drunk who just wanted to eat and sleep. As a fighter, Trevor is quite powerful, capable of some superhuman feats. He also wields his iconic whip to great effect, and his tolerance for pain is immensely high.
Trinity Bloodgained a small following during its run in 2005, where many remember it due to a striking number of similarities with Trigun. The anime featured Abel Nightroad, who used to be an enemy to humanity but now fights against the vampires for humans’ sake.
Abel is a clumsy, uncoordinated man usually, but when in the heat of battle, he becomes a vampire-killing machine. He has strong abilities even before activating his Nanomachine Krusnik 02. When he does activate the nanomachines, he becomes even stronger and has incredible regenerative abilities.

Shiki Tohnohas a long history in both anime and video games, as he appears inLunar Legend Tsukihimeand is a playable character in the video game, Melty Blood. Shiki Tohno is a young boy with the ability to perceive the death of all things.
Shiki’s eyes are immensely powerful and are able to see the destruction of anything, and if he traces the invisible lines made visible by his eyes, whatever he traces is destroyed. On the physical front, Shiki is also a very capable fighter and was strong enough to tear Arcueid, a true ancestor, to pieces.
Few vampire hunters can match Alexander Anderson fromHellsing Ultimate, and his abilities are even more impressive when one considers that he is a mere human (though with some notable enhancements). Anderson is a priest who is kindly to children but a menace to anything he considers an infidel.
Anderson is strong enough to fight the overpowering Alucard to a standstill, can regenerate almost endlessly, and has an indomitable will that ensures that he never gives up, even when it seems like he is losing. He matches Alucard’s insanity and could even be said to be the only one who can handle the ancient monster.
D (that’s all that is known regarding his name) is the protagonist of theVampire Hunter Dmoviesand light novels. He is a Dhampir — half human, half vampire — belonging to neither the world of the humans nor the noble vampires who used to rule. He spends his days working as a sword for hire, dispatching the creatures of the night and suffering the cruelty of the humans he protects.
D is super powerful. His age is unknown, but it is hinted that he is unbelievably ancient, and he has a left hand that has a life of its own. Capable of sucking up elements including poison and moving on its own when cut off, D’s left hand is a powerhouse on its own. Added to that is the fact that D is nearly unparalleled with the sword and can regenerate lethal wounds, making him one of the most accomplished vampire hunters around.
FromHellsing Ultimate,Alucard is an ancient vampire who is under the command of the Hellsing Organization. He is also the one who turned series protagonist, Seras, into one of the undead. Even though he is a vampire himself, Alucard is a monster hunter who will take on any and all challenges.
In terms of power,Alucard is unmatched, as he has strength that is beyond even superhuman. He is able to shoot with deadly accuracy, heal from just about any injury, and can make use of his magical shadow to consume others. He can literally raise an undead army, and even when he is deprived of blood, he can still survive (albeit in a dormant state). Alucard is a monster that defeats monsters and is the most terrifying vampire hunter in anime.
