In the storyline for the 1962 sci-fi novel,A Wrinkle in Time, the book has a section regarding the planet Camazotz, which has been overtaken by The Black Thing. In the novel’s narrative, the entity is an evil dark shadow that covers Camazotz and controls its people by using mind control.
