Summary
AStardew Valleyplayer was bewildered when they found their eel pond making a bizarre request for bombs. The puzzling request also induced some anxiety inStardew Valleyplayers at the idea of fulfilling it.
Stardew Valley’s bombs are generally most useful in mines and combat areas, where they can be used to rapidly clear away rocks and damage groups of enemies. However, there are some instances where players might have them around on the farm, too. Players have been puzzled atreceiving bombs from Kentin the mail as a friendly gesture, and this pond’s request would also be reason to keep some bombs around on the farm.
Stardew Valleyplayer dagugoso shared their moment of confusion when their Lava Eel pond made a request for twoMega Bomb. The screenshot shows the maxed out fish pond with theLava Eelpolitely making their request, and it’s easy to see how seeing this pop up would be a confusing moment.Stardew Valleyfish pondsmake requests when the pond reaches max capacity, and fulfilling it will allow the pond population to expand further. However, while most requests are for things like food, stone, or ingredients, this one is definitely more odd.
Stardew Valley Players Cringe at Eel Request
While acquiringMega Bombs inStardew Valleyshouldn’t be too big of a problem, that didn’t stop players from being nervous at the idea of responding to it. As noted, bombs can be devastating to farms, and a simple misclick could see the player setting one down in front of the pond rather than handing it over to the eels. Some players recommended only fulfilling requests like these at the very start of the day. That way, if anything goes wrong, a player can simply reset the game and try again without losing any progress or valuable items.
What the eels are doing with the bombs is unknown. Lava Eels are the only fish that can be put in a pond that make a request for bombs specifically. The remainder of their requests make some sense, as they’re fairly common in the areas that Lava Eels originate from, likeFire Quartz, valuable gemstones, and evenIridium. Considering Lava Eels normally live in lava, it’s not hard to imagine that a Mega Bomb wouldn’t have too much of an impact on them, but it’s still weird and funny to see the request made specifically for an explosive to make things “more comfortable” for the Lava Eels.
