GSC Game World has released a large new update forSTALKER 2, which focuses on fixing many of the early bugs discovered in the game. The 1.0.1 update forSTALKER 2is now available on PC and should land on Xbox Series X/S later today (from the time of writing).
While reception for the long-awaitedSTALKER 2has been largely positive from gamers and critics alike, the game is undoubtedly rough around the edges. Since launch, gamers have found plenty ofSTALKER 2glitches. Many of these are funny, like theSTALKER 2bug that allows players to fly around the map. However, plenty are still game-breaking issues, which is very frustrating, especially in a game the length ofSTALKER 2. That said, this early 1.0.1 patch is a step in the right direction for the future of the game.
GSC Game World published the fullSTALKER 21.0.1 patch noteson Steam, and the early changes look very interesting. Tons of mission blockers in main and side missions have been resolved, which will come as awesome news to any player who had been soft-locked in the game. Numerous AI fixes have also been made, although there is still no fix for the A-Life bugs, which the developer claims will be “addressed in future patches.” According to GSC Game World, this update addresses over 650STALKER 2issuesin total.
Another huge section of the 1.0.1 update is centered on balance changes. Many players had complained thatSTALKER 2was too hard, and this patch has taken solid steps to address this. Weapon and armor repair costs have been decreased, while armor durability across the board has been increased by 12.5%. Damage from severalSTALKER 2enemieshas also been moderately reduced, including Controllers, Burers, Boars, and Fleshes. Damage dealt to these enemies has been increased, while Bloodsuckers have had their HP regeneration outside of combat nerfed. Overall, these balance changes should make a massive change to theSTALKER 2experience.
This patch is an early step to makingSTALKER 2the best game it can be, and hopefully, there’s plenty more to come from GSC Game World. The game itself is already a hit -STALKER 2sold over a million copieswithin two days of launch. Gamers had waited 15 years for a newSTALKERgame, and the efforts of the studio have been rewarded so far. Fans should keep an eye out for even more fixes over the next few months.
