Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobylfeatures a large open world inhabited byvarious NPCs that sometimes have a job for Skiffto do. The side quests random NPCs offer in the game are some of the most random, but fun ones, that also let you hear their interesting stories about the Zone. One such NPC that players find trapped in a field full of electrical anomalies is Vova Amalgam, and it’s Skiff’s job to get him out of there safely. Although it isn’t shown as a side mission inStalker 2, helping Vova out will get players a cool new artifact called the Rat King.
The Location of Vova Amalgam NPC
Players can find Vova Amalgamin the Electrical Fieldlocated towards thenorth of the Detention Centerin the Garbage Region ofStalker: Heart of Chornobyl. He’s a Stalker who’s trapped inside a field of electro anomalies and calls out for help when players get closer to his location.
He’s standing on some wooden pallets and is awaiting rescue by a passerby when he spots Skiff and requests him to safely escort him out of the dangerous field.
Helping Vova Amalgam Escape the Electrical Field
It’s recommended that you create a manual save just before approaching Vova Amalgam. This is important to help you reload the save file in case something goes wrong, as there are no retries to this quest.
Players mustfirst equip the boltto throw at a patch of electrical anomalies to disable it for a short duration. After doing this, make your way to Vova and start a conversation with him. Here, you can choose to either accept Vova’s request to help him out or simply reject it and walk away inStalker 2. It’s recommended that players help this NPC escape the electrical field. Do it for the reward if not for the goodness in your heart.
The task of leading Vova out of harm’s way is somewhat easy, apart from the fact he can die with a single shock. Simply lead him away from the center of the electrical field. Choose the path that isn’t blocked by an electro anomaly. However, even if there are any electric anomaly patches in your way, simply use the bolts to clear them before continuing to escort Vova.
How to Get the Rat King Artifact from Vova Amalgam in Stalker 2
Once players successfully escort Vova Amalgam off of the field inStalker 2, he’ll simply thank Skiff for saving his life and start to walk away. Don’t let him do that and instead, quickly approach him to start a conversation.
You need to ask him for a reward and thenselect “The Artifact” optionto get the Rat King artifact from this quest. After the conversation finishes, Vova will walk away and players will finally have the Rat King artifact in their possession.
The rat king offers a weak resistance to bleeding and electrical damage, with minimal radiation side effects. It’s a great artifact that players can equip early on to minimize the damage caused by electro and fire-based anomalies inStalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
