While that final delay was supposedly to allow GSC Game World to fix bugs and polish the overall experience, its launch on November 20 was met with some critics and players unhappy at the number of issues present in the final game.

GSC Game World also acknowledged thatSTALKER 2’s massive size means “there may still be rough edges.” As such, the developers say they are “absolutely committed” to supportingSTALKER 2post-launch with new patches. Following the games release earlier this week, the studio says it will now focus on hotfixes before switching to larger updates that include constant improvements.
While many fans have simply been waiting patiently for the launch of this massive sequel, GSC Game World says this is just the beginning, as free in-game content is already in the works with a roadmap arriving later in December. Although it has been fifteen years sincethe lastSTALKERgame was released, the studio says it has big plans for the game’s universe, with the launch ofSTALKER 2being “both a return and the beginning of a grand new journey.”

Not only is this a huge number for a single-player game on launch day, but it also doesn’t take into account the game’s player count on Xbox Series X/S.
