Summary
InSpy x Family, Yor Briar works secretly as anassassin under the name of “Thorn Princess”. However, due to the secretive nature of her occupation, she looks for a way to hide her identity and continue her fake life. This is when she meets Loid Forger, and agrees to participate in a fake marriage with him, thereby changing her life forever.
Though the marriage between Loid and Yor, and the adoption of Anya, were originally just for the purpose of a cover, many events occur over the course ofSpy x Familythat change the family’s lives significantly. But, just how much has Yor actually changed over the seasons?

Spending Time With Family Has Helped Her Open Up
Although Yor’s marriage to Loid is intended to be a cover,as is her adoption of Anya, Yor eventually finds herself becoming more involved in the family dynamic and becoming an overall more confident woman. At the beginning ofSpy x Family, Yor is quite quiet and reserved, often avoiding any deep conversations with her coworkers at Berlint City Hall, and having an awkward air about her.

As her relationships with both Loid and Anya, whom she wishes to remind thattheir family will stay together, grow deeper, fans of the anime have begun to notice her becoming more confident in her actions and even attempting to grow legitimate relationships with those around her. She has even expanded her skills, such as cooking, by learning from her coworker Camilla. She’s no longer afraid to stand up to those threatening her or her family, such as Fiona Frost during a tennis match, and even Anya’s school principal at Eden Academy, as she defends her position as a part of the parent group.
Yor’s Relationship With Anya and Loid Become Stronger
Her Fake Family Becomes a Reality
Yor’s family might have started out unconventionally, but her relationship with her adoptive daughter Anya andher husband Loid slowly became legitimate. It is especially clear just how much she cares for Anya, with her motherly instincts slowly kicking in. Yor quickly supports Anya after a rough first day at Eden Academy, reminding her that she will become more used to the school over time and will improve greatly.
Maybe you’re able to become a person like that for Anya. It might be a good idea to praise any effort she makes, no matter how small it may be. I think that’ll make Anya happy. — Yor
As for Yor’s marriage to Loid, not only does she begin to show protection and care for him, fans will notice her slowly developing real feelings for him. The moment Fiona Frost shows up, a woman who clearly displays affection for Loid, she becomes increasingly jealous and seeks to protect her position as Loid’s wife. She becomesmore comfortable encouraging him and sharing her struggles, reminding him that he is a great father to Anya and turning to him when she’s struggling herself.
New Friendships Are Formed
She Expands Her Relationships Beyond Her Family
Outside of Yor’s deep relationship with Loid and Anya,and even her brother Yuri, she grows some friendships with her coworkers as well, spending time with them outside of work. Despite initially having a tough and distant relationship with her coworker Camilla, she comes to her to learn more about cooking, and they begin to grow closer. They form a supportive bond and actually have a strong relationship outside of just being colleagues.

Along with Camilla, Yor forms a friendship with Millie and Sharon at the City Hall as well. Yor finds herself more often going to social outings with all of her coworkers, including going out for drinks. As someone who was initially awkward and distant, Yor becomes more comfortable with the group and enjoys spending time with them. Outside of her coworkers,she becomes more friendly with others around her, such as local shopkeepers and those in her neighborhood.
She Becomes Stronger In Every Way
She Improves Her Physical Strength As Well As Emotional Strength
Not only has Yor become stronger emotionally by expanding her friendships and her relationship with her family, but she has alsobecome stronger because of her assassin occupation. We see her becoming better at controlling her strength while cooking with Camilla, no longer being clumsy and accidentally destroying things in her wake. She enjoys helping Anya in self-defense as well, as she wishes for Anya to be able to protect herself in the future.

Overall, Yor has shownsignificant improvement in her physical strength, as well as her emotional strength. She spends more time with her family and has become an important figure in their lives, and works hard to build her friendships with her coworkers as well. She has become stronger in every way, which has allowed her to become a better wife, mother, and friend over time.
