Secret Level Fans Have No Idea What To Make Of Pac-man Episode Teaser
Shown off onSecret Level’ssocial media account, a brand-new 30-second teaser forthe show’s upcomingPac-Manepisodegave a very different look to the little round yellow character that most fans know and love. Instead, the teaser trailer showcased a darker and more gritty version of the pill-popping yellow ball as this unique-looking Pac-Man struggles to survive in a monster-infested world, where the words “eat or be eaten” are narrated as the cloaked survivor rushes his sword into a fearsome creature.
While most fans lovedSecret Level’sPac-manadaptation and couldn’t wait to watch it, others couldn’t believe their eyes at what they were witnessing. In the comment section of the teaser, one user exclaimed “Talk about straying from the source material”, another echoed the same sentiment by saying “Is this supposed to be Pac-Man? Kinda confused about what this show is supposed to be, ngl”, while a third likened the character to something out of a Soulslike game likeElden RingorBloodborne- “Pac-Man meets Soulsborne, maybe.”
Just like inLove, Death + Robots,Secret Level’s creatorswill look to produce a series that stretches the imagination as well as the boundaries of creativity, and that can only be a good thing. Unlike a lot of animated series, Secret Level won’t be for children and is designed for a more mature audience. Even though most people couldn’t imagine a Pac-Man to ever look dark and ominous, the show’s executive producer had previously stated that it felt like they were “disemboweling people’s childhoods” with thePac-Manepisode.
