O’Conner’s character hasn’t been disclosed, so fans will have to wait untilthe movie’s February 2026 release dateto find out whether she plays a victim or, possibly, Ghostface. O’Connor previously appeared inthe 2020 horror movieFreaky, along withMadame Web,the second sequelGhostbusters: Frozen Empire, andThe In Between.

So far, there are only three officialScream 7cast members. This includes Neve Campbell, who will play Sidney Prescott again, and Isabel May, who was cast as Sidney’s daughter.May’s casting might introduce a plot holesince fans are unsure about how old Sidney’s kids are supposed to be, and audiences are waiting to see if there is an explanation for that. As has been the case throughout the entireScreamfranchise, anyone could be Ghostface, which is why O’Connor’s casting is interesting. They may be playing one of May’s character’s friends or classmates.

SinceScream 7will start filming in December 2024, there is no trailer yet, and fans have a rough, general idea of where the story will go. There may not be any news about whom the new characters are or further casting details, but fans have come up with various theories about Sidney’s life and who Ghostface could be.

It will be interesting to see how O’Connor’s character fits into the slasher story and how she’s connected to Sidney. Considering that new and legacy characters joined together to beat Ghostface in both the fifth and sixth movies, it would be great to see O’Connor play a teenager who is friends with Sidney’s daughter. The three of them could form a new strong team, hopefully with Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) by their side. Cox hasn’t signed ontoScream 7, but fans are waiting every day for news that she will come back. It doesn’t feel right to watch aScreammovie without journalist Gale, who is so smart, witty, and funny. At the very least, the fact that two younger stars have been cast alongside Campbell proves that young adult characters will be a big and important part of the story.

Campbell didn’t return forScream 6because she said she wasn’t given the salary she knew she should have been. However, she toldPeoplethat the franchise meant a lot to her and it was tough to come to this conclusion. She said, “It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all myScreamfans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years.” Hopefully, asScream 7gets closer to filming, fans will hear more about the other cast members soon.
