Nintendo still has not made any official announcements about any plans to bringMetroid Prime 2to the Switch, so fans should keep their expectations in check. However, leaker Samus Hunter has recently claimed thatMetroid Prime 2: Echoesis likely releasing betweenDonkey Kong Country Returns HDandXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionin 2025.Donkey Kong Country Returns HDis releasing in January, whileXenoblade Chronicles Xis launching in March. Metroid Prime 2 Rumored for Switch
As for when the potentialMetroid Prime 2: EchoesSwitch port will be announced, Samus Hunter suggested that the reveal could take place at The Game Awards 2024 on December 12. Assuming Nintendo is planning on bringingMetroid Prime 2to Switch as has long been rumored, fans can’t rule out the possibility that it will be shadow dropped.Metroid Prime: Remasteredwas shadow dropped, after all, and so the same could happen with otherMetroid Primegames.
Chances are good that Nintendo is going tohost a Nintendo Direct in February, so if that’s the case, perhapsMetroid Prime 2’s Switch port will be announced then. Then again, it’s been suggested by leakers that the Nintendo Direct in February will be focused more on third-party games, and if that’s the case, thenMetroid Prime 2would be out of place.
Time will tell if and whenMetroid Prime 2ever comes to the Nintendo Switch, but 2025 should be a big one for franchise fans regardless. While it’s still unclear ifMetroid Prime 2is coming to the Switch next year,Metroid Prime 4: Beyondis launching in 2025, barring any unexpected release date delays, of course.
