Summary
A new rumor indicates that Rockstar Games could be patching the PC version ofBully. While unconfirmed, the rumor is excellent news forBullyfans, as the beloved game seems to have been all but forgotten by Rockstar for quite some time.
Originally released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2,Bullyis often considered one ofthe best games Rockstar ever made, especially due to the novelty that its setting presented at the time. While other popular sandbox games created by the developer put the player in the shoes of criminals such as CJ or Tommy Vercetti,Bullyoffered a fresh experience by allowing gamers to become a high-school troublemaker named Jimmy.
Now, a Rockstar insider called Tez2 has spotted that the company recently added a new development branch to the Steam version ofBully: Scholarship Edition, which had not received any updates in over 10 years. The PC version ofBullyis subpar, as it suffers from frequent crashes, and the changes spotted by Tez2 could indicate that Rockstar is finally trying to fix these annoying bugs. The most likely reason for this decision is to add the PC version ofBullyto GTA+. A few months ago,Rockstar addedBully’s Scholarship Editionto GTA+, but this did not include the PC version, as only console and mobile ports are included in the service. However, Rockstar recently revealed that PC players will get access to the contents of GTA+ soon, which may be motivating these changes.
This is not the only news regardingBullyto surface recently. Reports from August indicate thatBullyhas received multiple new age classifications in Taiwan. This could either indicate that Rockstar Games is currently working on a remastered version ofBully, or simply that the company decided to update the game’s age classifications as it is available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via the GTA+ subscription service. Considering that Rockstar often breathes new life into its games, however, aBullyremaster would not be unlikely.
In any case, aBullyremaster or an improved PC version without bugs is essentially what can be expected from Rockstar at the moment. The studio is currently focused on the upcoming release ofGTA 6, and it’sunlikely thatBully 2will be Rockstar’s next gameafter that. TheBullyfranchise hasn’t received any new games in around 18 years, and theRed Dead RedemptionIP is still a massive hit, making it unlikely that fans can expect a newBullygame in the near future.
