Crossseason 1 looks like it has the perfect villainto square up against the eponymous hero, Alex Cross. The bad guy goes by the name of Ed Ramsey (a.ka Fanboy), and he’s being billed as the biggest threat Cross has ever faced. This is all shaping up to be an epic first season of twists and turns. Ben Watkins opened up about the dynamic the creative team were going for between Cross and Fanboy, in a recentinterview with Screen Rant:

I think there’s two similarities I wanted. One is sort of the level of their intellect and drive. I tie those together, because you may see different varieties of intellect, but they both have drive and intellect, and they’re able to use that, and they’re able to use people’s own human nature against them.

Thebest hero and villain combosare the ones who share similarities in their character traits, while being on very different sides of the legal spectrum.Cross and Fanboy could provide one of the most exciting battles of 2024, and fans are set to be hooked on their dangerous cat and mouse game.Watkins elaborated on the battle of wits between Cross and Fanboy in the upcoming season:

Cross is using that to break people down in an interrogation, or anticipate what their next move might be. And Fanboy is using that to lure people into his traps.

Who Is Playing The Fanboy Serial Killer?

Ryan Eggold is the man behindthe evil serial killer, Fanboy inCrossseason 1, and fans will probably be most familiar with him as Tom Keen inThe Blacklistand, more recently, Dr Goodwin inNew Amsterdam. This is a weird stat, but he appeared in 89 episodes of each show. Eggold has been a regular on television screens for well over a decade, appearing in other shows like90210andEntourage. His role inCrosslooks set to be his highest profile to date, and his range as a character actor can only help to propel Prime Video’s new show to the top of the charts. Ben Watkins heaped praise on the actor in the same interview with Screen Rant:

I’m so glad we got Ryan Eggold to play the role. I wanted to sort of depart away from what I feel like people have been doing with serial killers recently, which is making them all sort of fit the Hannibal Lecter mold.

These comments are interesting as they hint at a very different type of serial killer villain to the ones audiences have become accustomed to.Eggold may not be a household name, but he certainly has the acting chops to pull off the complex role of Fanboy. And by the timeCrossairs, his profile is bound to rise significantly.
