Although Pelipper has a quadruple weakness to Electric-type attacks, its high physical defense and access to moves like U-Turn and Substitute allow Pelipper to protect itself and switch out quickly. As a rain setter via the Drizzle ability, Pelipper can use moves like Hurricane for serious damage, making it one ofthe best competitive Water-type Pokemonavailable.
Though other titles likePokemon GOhave held Shiny Pelipper events, mainlinePokemonplayers can grab one for a limited time. According to Serebii.net, the Shiny Pelipper distribution event is now live, and lasts until Thursday, November 21, at 6:59 PM Eastern. The distribution is being held to celebrate the ongoing Latin America World Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. To obtain the Shiny Pelipper, PokemonScarlet and Violetplayers must connect their Switch console to the internet and head to the Poke Portal in-game. Once there, trainers can select Mystery Gift, choose the Get With Code/Password option, andenter the promo code “W1DEGUARDLA1C25"to claim a Shiny Pelipper.

The Shiny Pelipper currently being distributed inPokemon Scarlet and Violetis modeled after the one used byPokemonVGC Masters Division Champion Patrick Connors during the 2024 North America International Championships. As for what trainers will get with Shiny Pelipper, it comes with the Drizzle ability to drench the battlefield in rainy weather for five turns. This allows Pelipper to use moves like Weather Ball and Hurricane for serious damage, but it can also use Wide Guard and Protect for defense. Pelipper will also have the Ghost-type as its Tera type. Given thatPokemonVGC rules useDouble Battles as the standard format, Pelipper can work with other Pokemon that use moves like Thunder while the rain is up.
