InPokemon TCG Pocket, Pack Points are a card-crafting currency. You earn them passively by engaging with the game’s main card-acquisition features. These points can then be spent in an exclusive shop to purchase any non-promotional card you want—even ultra-rare ones like the Crown Rarity Pokemon.
This guide coverseverything you need to know about Pack Points, including how to earn them and the best strategies for spending them. However, it’s important to note that due toPokemon Pocket’s gacha mechanics, farming Pack Points isn’t possible. So, don’t expect any “exploit” methods here.
How to Get Pack Points
The only way to earn Pack Points is byopening booster packs. Each time you open a non-promotional pack, you receive five Pack Points. This applies whether the packs are opened using free Stamina, Hourglasses, or microtransaction currencies like Poke Gold. The five-point reward is fixed and doesn’t vary between packs.
Promotional packs, such asPromo-A Packs obtained from eventslike the Lapras ex drop, are classified as gifts and do not award any Pack Points.
How to Spend Pack Points
1. Open the ‘Booster Pack’ menu.
Tap the blue sphere in the bottom-right corner of the packs.
This will take you to the Pack Point Exchange Shop.
- Select your desired card and set the quantity.
5. Tap “Exchange” to craft the card.
There are no restrictions on how many cards you can exchange in the Pack Point store. As long as you have enough points, you’re free to use them all on a single card or spread them across various Pokemon—it’s entirely up to you.

Pack Point Cap and Availability
InPokemon Pocket, Pack Points are tied tospecific expansions and booster packs. you’re able to earn and spend these points as long as the corresponding packs and expansions remain available. Once an expansion, such asGenetic Apex, is retired, its associated Pack Points will be removed from your account.
The game explains this mechanic as follows: “If the availability period for a given booster pack ends, its Pack Points will no longer be available for exchange.” This makes it essential to spend all your points before a booster pack lineup expires. (It’s likely that players will receive advance notice to avoid losing their accumulated points.)
Currently,the Pack Point cap inPokemon Pocketis 2,500. Any packs opened after reaching this limit will not grant additional Pack Points. To avoid wasting rewards, it’s recommended tocraft some missing cardsbefore continuing to open more packs.
Best Cards to Craft with Pack Points
Pack Points arebest used to craft cards that enhance your decks. Focus on a specific lineup and use Pack Points as a backup to fill in gaps. For example, if you’rebuilding a Mewtwo ex Deck, open Mewtwo packs to collect key cards while saving Pack Points to craft any essential cards you can’t pull.
For top-tier investments,consider crafting Giovanni, Sabrina, or Misty. TheseMETA Supporters are crucial inPokemon PocketPvPdecks and can significantly improve your performance.
If your Supporter lineup is complete, spend Pack Points on ex Pokemon toaccess more META decks. Cards like Moltres ex are versatile options, enabling multiple consistent PvP lineups.
Alternatively, invest in rare cards you don’t need immediately. WithPocket’s trading feature on the horizon, extra rare Pokemon can be exchanged with other players, helping you complete your Pokedex more efficiently.
