Summary
SomePokemon GOplayers believe they are owed additional Wild Raid Passes after purchasing the new Into the Wild Paid Tickets. This is the latest controversy in whichPokemon GOplayers side against Niantic in a tumultuous year for the popular augmented reality game.
Niantic announced the newPokemon GOInto The Wild eventearlier this month. The event, which is running from November 18 to 22, marked Toxel’s debut in the game, who will appear in 10 km eggs, as well as new Collection Challenges, Field Research tasks, wild encounters, and more. As part of Into the Wild, gamers had the chance to purchase two different $5 tickets that would get them additional goodies. One of these tickets promised “two additional Raid Passes per day,” 5,000 extra XP from raids, and one extra Candy for each four-star or five-star Primal Raid.
Now, multiple players are unhappy with how Niantic dealt with the ticket that promised additionalRaid Passes inPokemon GO’sInto the Wild event. On social media, one gamer posted a screenshot of Niantic Support responding to a player on Twitter, who was wondering why they did not gain two extra Raid Passes. Niantic Support responded that “up to two free Raid Passes each day” includes the daily free one. However, the ad for the ticket shared by the player clearly states that gamers would get “two additional Raid Passes” when purchasing it. The post gained over 8,700 upvotes, with a considerable number of players accusing Niantic of “scamming” them and questioning whether it was legal to advertise the product that way. At the time of this report, Niantic has not officially addressed this controversy.
Pokemon Go Players Believe They Are Owed Additional Wild Raid Passes
2024 did not lack controversies involvingPokemon GOplayers criticizing Niantic. In what was perhaps the most controversial event happening in the game this year, manygamers were displeased with thePokemon GOavatar update, which was deemed to make all characters look considerably worse than their previous visuals.
To make matters worse, thePokemon GOavatar update made weird changes to characters, such as completely changing their skin and hair colors, which led some gamers to believe that their accounts may have been hacked.
