Reddit user NoFaceChase2 shared one such egg and wondered if they possibly had one of the oldest unhatched eggs withinPokemon GO. The Reddit user’s 2km egg was received on Jul 11, 2025, only six days after the game’s release in the U.S. The egg was dated even more by the fact that the player supposedly couldn’t even see what possible Pokemon would hatch from the egg, a feature that wasn’t available at the launch of the game but added later in 2016.

While the exact time that these eggs were received remains unknown, it is safe to say that both the original poster and the other Reddit users that shared their eggs definitely have some of the oldest withinPokemon GO. Whether these users will maintain these relic eggs as unhatched or eventually hatch them into Pokemon, it is still incredible to see parts of the game from around the timePokemon GOreleased.
