In a new teaser shared on Twitter, the devs revealed the title of the seventeenth season, Dual Destiny, along with the start and end dates - June 12, 2025, and June 15, 2025. Among the transitions in the video, players can notice a ring animation that alludes to Hoopa, theMythical Pokemonthat debuted in Gen 6 with the release ofPokemon X and Y. In addition, the video emphasizes the changing seasons, which players already see after the game’s graphics update.
Pokemon GO Could Be Teasing Hoopa’s Return in Season 17, Dual Destiny
Although details are currently scarce, if confirmed, this won’t be the pocket monster’s first time in the game. Back in 2021, Hoopa Confined, the critter’s regular form, debuted inPokemon GOas one of the rewards for completing the third part of theMisunderstood Mischief Special Research. Players then unlocked its other form, Hoopa Unbound, by joining the Mischief Unbound event that took place the same year. While Special Research was Hoopa Confined’s only appearance, the Unbound form appeared in Elite Raids from October to December 2022.
WhilePokemon GOplayers wait for more information about the Dual Destiny season, which may happen in the next few days, the Max Out Season still has events for them. On November 27, the 5-star Raids with Palkia and Dialga Origin Forme end, as do the Mega Raids with Mega Ampharos and Mega Beedrill. The period from November 27 to December 3 will feature Mega Raids with Mega Altaria, and 5-star Raids with Zacian, Zamazenta, Regieleki, and Regidrago. ThePokemon GO’s Max Out season finale eventwill start on November 27 and end on December 1.
