Sinistea and Polteageist are coming toPokemon GO, Niantic has announced. These Generation 8 Ghost-type pocket monsters will debut in the game as part of an upcomingPokemon GOevent taking place in early December 2024.

Niantic’s hit mobile game has been adding Gen 8 mons since June 2020, starting with Obstagoon and Perrserker, which were introduced as part of thePokemon GOThrowback Challenge Champion 2020 event. Another 33 Gen 8 Pokemon have been added to the game over the following four and a half years.

Niantic is now continuing this trend with Sinistea and Polteageist, which have just been revealed as the highlights ofPokemon GOeventcalled My Cup of Tea, which is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, December 3, starting at 10am local time. The event is planned to conclude on Saturday, December 7, at 8pm local time.

How To Catch Sinistea in Pokemon GO

There will be two ways to obtain Sinistea during My Cup of Tea. The easier option will be to find it in 1-star raids, where it will have a chance to appear alongside the male and female variants of Frillish. As is the case with all 1-star raids, the Sinistea one should be easily beatable bysoloPokemon GOplayers.

Alternatively or additionally, Sinistea will also be offered as a reward for completing a newPokemon GOCollection Challengethat’s going to be available during My Cup of Tea. This will presumably be a more difficult way to procure it, as Collection Challenges are designed to keep players engaged with the game for much longer than the duration of a single 1-star raid. Typically, these tasks involve catching around eight specific Pokemon in the wild. Although Niantic has yet to provide any additional details about the My Cup of Tea Collection Challenge, the theme of the event indicates that players could be tasked with catching Ghost-type mons.

How To Evolve Sinistea to Polteageist in Pokemon GO

Evolving Sinistea to Polteageist inPokemon GOwill require spending 50 Sinistea Candy. In other words, procuring Polteageist will become much more difficult after the My Cup of Tea event ends, making it no longer possible to easily farm Sinistea Candy through 1-Star raids. Sinistea’sPokemon GOdebut doesn’t include the teacup-shaped mon’s shiny variant, which will presumably be included at a later date. Although Sinistea won’t be obtainable after December 7, Niantic’s track record suggests that the Gen 8 Ghost-type Pokemon will likely start regularly returning to the game following its debut.
