Summary
APokemonfan has recently devised a new unofficial take on Rayquaza, reimagining the popular legendary as one of the Upper Moons fromDemon Slayer.Pokemonfans are very creative with their artwork, and redesigning Pokemon with characteristics from other works is a popular concept used in many incredible pieces.
Rayquaza is a dual-type Dragon/Flyinglegendary originally introduced in the third generation ofPokemongames. The unique monster can only be found at the Sky Pillar in Gen 3 games and is the official mascot ofPokemon Emerald. Like other legendary critters, Rayquaza has access to powerful moves at high levels, such as the Dragon-type Outrage or the Normal-type Hyper Beam, which are learned at Levels 81 and 90, respectively. The Pokemon is not known to evolve from or into another creature, but it can evolve into Mega Rayquaza under specific circumstances.
Now, aPokemonfan called abz-art redesigned Rayquaza as an Upper Moon demon. In this new design, Rayquaza has white skin with light green stripes and huge yellow horns, as well as demonic traits that resemble itsDemon Slayerinspiration. To make the artwork even more beautiful, the Pokemon was drawn on top of a cherry blossom tree in front of a menacing red moon.Upper Moon demons are antagonists inDemon Slayer, have superhuman strength, and can use blood demon arts. ThePokemoncommunity loved abz-art’s work, giving the fan over 3,300 upvotes.
Pokemon Fan Art Depicts Rayquaza as an Upper Moon Demon
This is not the first time a talentedPokemonfan has reimagined Rayquaza using another franchise as an inspiration, though. Some months ago, one fan created aMonster Hunter-inspired Rayquaza. This version of the mythic creature came in two different versions, one looking like a huge green dragon drawn using the style of Capcom’s popular series, and the other was a complete set of armor and weapons used with the monster’s parts. Considering that gamers can use monster parts to create new items inMonster Hunter, this was a pretty creative idea.
Rayquaza is also not the only Pokemon to be redesigned with strongDemon Slayerinspirations. A few months ago, onefan turned Cubone into a Demon Slayer. In this impressive artwork, the Ground-type beast was drawn as a fierce warrior with a huge bone club and clothes that resembled the ones that the characters of the popular series have. Hopefully, other talented fans will keep devising interesting artworks combiningPokemonwith other popular franchises and sharing them with the community.
