Summary

A talentedPokemonfan has made a card with an evolution for Falinks based on their son’s idea. ThePokemonfranchise has introduced more than 1000 pocket monsters over nine generations. Several of them have evolutionary lines of two or three stages, with some cases like those of Charmanter, Togepi, and Eevee among the fan favorites.

But while many critters have other evolutionary stages, there arePokemon with no evolutions, such as Lapras and Mimikyu, which only have one form, and Castform, which changes its form according to the weather but doesn’t evolve. As a result, fans often exercise their creativity to imagine what it would be like if these and other Pokemon without an evolution finally had one. This is the recent case of aPokemonfan who created a new evolution for a pocket monster, showing off the idea in an inventive way.

Redditor lezgobobbie drew a full art card with a new form for Falinks. Named Standafalinks, this newPokemonevolution is based on an idea from their four-year-old son, and shows a monster that appears standing and has armor in shades of grey, blue, and white, whileFalinks' armoris yellow, with red and white details. Making the fan art even more wholesome, their artwork has a custom text with skills and descriptions for Standafalinks.

Falink was introduced in Gen 8 with the release ofPokemon Sword and Shield. Following a concept seen before with Exeggcute and Digglet, it is a formation of small bipedal creatures. The group consists of five soldiers and a leader, who march in a line in a military formation reminiscent of a centipede. In addition toPokemon Sword and Shield,Falinks is available inPokemon Unite, where players can buy its license for 14000 Aeos Coins/575 Aeos Gems. It is also available inPokemon GO, with its regular form having been introduced in a Gen 8-themed event that took place in 2021. This year, the Dynamax form was added during the Max Out season.

Alongside appearances inPokemongames, players can also buy Falinks trading cards. The first appearance of the Fighting-type was in 2020 as part of the 209 cards introduced by theRebel Clashexpansion. The critter then appeared on seven more cards, most recently in theStellar Crownexpansion, which hit shelves in September this year and brought 175 new cards for players to collect. The Falinks card, in particular, has an illustration reminiscent of a painting and is signed by the artist known as Gapao.
