One Piece, at its core, is all about dreams. Each character, from the lowest of background characters to the protagonist himself, has some sort of dream. Whether big or small, realistic or impossible, or even if the dream was given up long ago,One Piece’sGreat Pirate Era is full of dreamers.
As it currently stands, no crew in all ofOne Piecehas dreams likethe Straw Hat Crew. Each member of the crew has a very specific, andextremely difficult, dream that they would give up their entire life to accomplish. Although each of these dreams is challenging in its own right, some of the dreams of the Straw Hats are far harder than the others.
Each Straw Hat’s Goal in One Piece
The Biggest Dreamers on the Grand Line
For theStraw Hat crew inOne Piece, although the entire group is united under the common goal of seeing Luffy become the Pirate King, each individual member has their own specific goal that they want to accomplish. Firstly, Luffy, the hero of the story, of course, wants to find the One Piece and become the King of the Pirates. Zoro, on the other hand, has the goal of becoming the strongest swordsman.

Continuing with the goals of theOne Piececrew, Nami’s goal is to map the entire world ofOne Piece, while Usopp wishes to become a “brave warrior of the sea.” Sanji dreams of findingOne Piece’smythical, “All-Blue”a sea where fish from all seas meet, while Chopper wants to find a medicine to cure all diseases. Robin, being an archeologist, wishes to learn what happened inOne Piece’sVoid Century while Franky wants to see his ship circumnavigate the Grand Line. Finally, Brook simply wishes to be reunited with Laboon. Although Jinbe hasn’t expressed a dream similar to the other Straw Hats, some fans assume that his dream is to see humans and Fish-man be treated like equals.
Some Straw Hat Goals Are Easier Than Others
Simple And Definitive Endings
As for the easiest task on this list, Brook’s goal to seetheOne Piecewhale, Laboonis most likely the easiest by far. Luffy has already promised to return to Laboon, and if the crew really wanted to, they could return to the whale at any time. Additionally, if they were to circumnavigate the Grand Line to find Laboon again, the crew would most likely finish Franky’s goal as well, taking the Thousand Sunny completely across the world.
The rest of the goals, such asthe Straw Hat Captain Luffy’sand Zoro’s, are going to be much harder to accomplish, though not impossible. The goals for Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp are tasks that are going to be finished by the end of the series. While it may be hard, Luffy will eventually most likely become the Pirate King, Zoro will probably defeat Mihawk and become the strongest swordsman, and Usopp will do something to prove he’s a “brave warrior of the sea.”
However, compared to theStraw Hat Crew’s dreamswith more definitive goals, Jinbe, Chopper, Sanji, and Robin have fairly amorphous goals that may be far more difficult than just defeating one strong enemy. Robin’s and Chopper’s dreams, for example, will require what could be years of research to fully uncover the truth surrounding the missing history ofOne Pieceor cure all diseases. As for Sanji, the All-Blue may not even be something that exists, though if it does, the cook will almost certainly find it at one point.
Nami May Have the Hardest Goal in One Piece
Mapping the Entire World
However, arguably the hardest dream of the Straw Hats would have to bethe Straw Hat navigator, Nami’s, dream of mapping the entire world ofOne Piece. With hundreds of dangerous and hidden islands, mapping even a few islands on the Grand Line is already a deadly task. Adding up all the mysterious and unknown islands of theOne Pieceuniverse, Nami’s goal may very well take an extremely long time to complete.

In the end, whileeach Straw Hat crew memberhas a difficult dream to accomplish, Nami’s dream of mapping the world is something that seems almost impossible. However, once the crew completes their first trip around the Grand Line, hopefully, the next few trips for Nami’s goal will become easier. Then the trip toOne Piece’sWest Blue will be even easier. Then the North Blue. Then the South Blue.
