Crocodile Could Be Luffy’s Mom in One Piece

The Relationship Thickens

From this small amount of information, some fans have concluded that Crocodile, one ofOne Piece’sformer Warlords, is Luffy’s mom. Firstly, these fans theorize that Crocodile, during his time in the Revolutionary Army, was a woman. Here, Crocodile fell in love with Monkey D. Dragon, and the couple eventually had Luffy. After, Luffy is taken away from the dangerous life of the Revolutionary Army, where he is then brought to be raised by Garp and Dadan.

After the future captain ofOne Piece’sStraw Hat Piratesis removed from the situation, Crocodile then approaches Ivankov.Fans then theorizethat Crocodile desired to become a man, asking the Hormone-Hormone Fruit user to change his gender, something the revolutionary frequently does withOne Piece’sgender-fluid characters. From here, Crocodile and Luffy would eventually meet once again. Although it seems like Crocodile would know that he is fighting his own son, however, at this point in the show, Luffy and the world have no idea that his father is Dragon.

This One Piece Theory is Best Kept as a Joke

Crocodile’s Motherhood Arc is Over

Of course, this theory has plenty of holes that make it so improbable inthe tumultuous world ofOne Piece. During Marineford, it seems to be common knowledge that Luffy is Dragon’s son. Despite this, Crocodile doesn’t react very strongly, viewing him more as an annoying pest that’s simply useful for the moment. However, Crocodile does start assisting Luffy more at this point, saving his life multiple times in the war, though it’s more likely that Crocodile did these things due to his hate of both Whitebeard and the World Government.

I know one of his weaknesses. But if he cooperates with us, then I won’t say anything about it. - Ivankov about Crocodile

In the end, it seems more likely that Oda won’t reveal that Crocodile is Luffy’s mother inthe final saga ofOne Piece. With no direct evidence, a theory like this is best kept as aOne Piecethought exercise rather than serious speculation. Despite this, it’s still fun for the community to theorize, creating the wackiest, but congruent, speculations possible.
