One can’t make it to the position of an Admiral if they aren’t leagues stronger than their contemporaries. However, even among the ranks of the Admirals, Akainu is especially powerful as he was able to defeat Aokiji in order to becomethe new Fleet Admiral of the Navy. It helps that Akainu has perhaps the strongest sense of justice and is fiercely loyal to the Navy, mostly due to the contempt he holds for pirates, which is shown by his willingness to do anything to destroy all threats to the foundation of the World Government.

Akainu is said to have one of, if not the, most offensively powerful Devil Fruits in the entire world, so his strength due to this and his mastery over Haki easily make him one of the greatest characters inOne Piece. One could argue that his loyalty is perhaps his strongest asset, but he has been shown to talk back to the likes of the 5 Elders when he doesn’t agree with their tactics. This makes his unmatched power his strongest trait.
Long Ring Long Land
Just like Akainu, Aokiji is exceptionally powerful and far stronger than most characters in the entire series. However, his strongest aspect has more to do with his calm and tactical mind, which he uses to assess a situation before he tackles it. His sense of justice is also very strong but has a far more lenient implementation, which was one of the main reasons why he fought against Akainufor the position of Fleet Admiral.

Although he lost the battle, he was able to cause permanent injuries to someone whose offensive capabilities were far greater than his own. In any situation, Aokiji is always able to use his head calmly to defeat his opponents, such as how he froze the entire battlefield to the Marines' advantage during Marineford or how he was able to subdue the entire Blackbeard Pirates crew in an instant. The ability to remain calm in any situation is what separates Aokiji from the others.

Kizaru ate the Pika Pika no Mi, which is a Logia Type that gives him the ability to manipulate and become light itself. Due to the properties of the element, Kizaru can move at the speed of light, making him the fastest character in the entireOne Pieceworld, which also goes intomaking him one of the strongest. Not only does Kizaru move this fast, but he can also shoot rapid projectiles of light that can shred through whatever they touch.

Just like Akainu, Kizaru is incredibly loyal to the World Government, as was seen in his presence on Egghead, where he killed Dr. Vegapunk because he was ordered to. However, he hated doing it and regretted it immediately after, as it was strongly hinted that it was Kizaru who gave Luffy the extra food to give him enough energy to transform into Gear 5 again, making him quite loyal but not beyond his own whims and wishes.

Dressrosa
The only Admiral with a Paramecia Type Devil Fruit, Fujitora is one of the later conscripts into the ranks of the Marines. This character wasnever a member of the Marinesbefore he joined as an Admiral, so the views he held on justice were quite different to most of his contemporaries as he believed that not all the actions perpetrated by the World Government were correct and that there were flaws in the system that needed to be fixed.
If we lose credibility just by admitting fault, we didn’t have any in the first place!
This makes him the most humane of the Admirals; someone who values life above all else and despises violence. He acknowledges that a system of laws and values must be upheld, but the mere act of being a pirate does not disqualify someone from being a good person, which was proven right with Luffy. While this may not be as direct in a combat situation as the others, it shows that Fujitora will always do what is right and will likely even become an ally to the Straw Hats in the Final Saga.
Reverie
Just like Fujitora, Ryokugyu wasn’t always a Marine, but was drafted upon the resignation of Aokiji and the promotion of Akainu, which left 2 vacant positions for the rank of Admiral. The reason why he is one of the most valuable assets to the World Government is due to his unwavering loyalty to their regime, as he is also a firm believer inthe supremacy of the Celestial Dragons, so he works to enforce it as best as he can.

Just like Akainu, Ryokugyu believes in absolute justice and the punishment of anyone who goes against the rules set by the World Government, no matter what. However, unlike the Fleet Admiral, Ryokugyu would never speak against his orders since he seems to believe in the racist and elitist classism infecting the world ofOne Piece. This, coupled with his incredible powers, is why he is such a deadly foe for the heroes to eventually face.
