Dandadanfans can now buy something the main character Okarun desperately needs to get back.Dandadanis trending this season, being one of the most popular anime currently on air, and thestory promises to deliver even more.
The supernatural andcute romance storyanime adaptation started broadcasting in October 2024, and has got fans' hearts and attention, becoming one of the years biggests hits. The plot follows Okarun and Ayase, two students with fairly different beliefs (he’s into UFOs, and she’s into the occult).
The Golden “Family Jewels”
In the story, Okarun is cursed by Turbo Granny, and then loses his family jewels (yeah,that part of his body). He might be able to get them back, but now fans can also own Okarun’s golden balls. FuRyu just announceda real-size reproduction (!) of his golden “family jewels”, slated for spring 2025. The price was not announced, but we might soon discover how much people would be willing to pay for Okarun’s balls:

Science Saru and former Yuasa assistant
Dandadanhas been serialized in Shonen Jump+ Japanese app/website since 2021, and was already a hit prior to the anime’s debut. It was one of the most awaited Shonen Jump anime adaptations for 2024, and it seems to be keeping the hype. CreatorYukinobu Tatsu’s story mixes supernatural thriller, romantic comedy and action, being a good catch to people with many different tastes.
The animation adaptation is produced by prolific Science Saru, a studio thatpreviously produced Masaaki Yuasa’sDevilman Crybaby,Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, and was also behindTatami Time Machine BluesandScott Pilgrim Takes Off. Science Saru is also producing a newGhost in the Shellanime, slated for 2026.
The series is directed byFuuga Yamashiro, who previously worked asInu-Ohepisode director and also assisted Yuasa in directingEizouken. This is his debut as chief-director.Hiroshi Sekois in charge of the scripts and series composition. Seko wrote many recent anime hits, such asChainsaw Man, Zom 100, Mob Psycho 100andVinland Saga. This highly competent staff is surely to be credited for the anime’s sucess.
Dandadan’s latest chapters are published online in English by VIZ Media and can be found on Manga Plus app/website. The anime is available to stream on Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll.
