November 27 marked the eighth anniversary of the sci-fi survival game’s Foundation Update, which introduced base building. No Man’s Skyplayers have been building increasingly more impressive basesever since.
In the latest testament to this trend, Reddit user Th4_G0dF4Th3R_82 has recently shared some images of anastonishingNo Man’s Skybasemodeled after a mesmerizing cyberpunk city. The design features remarkable attention to detail, with the city thoughtfully divided into residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use districts. Each zone features a distinct color palette and unique architectural quirks, all unified by the presence of towering and overall imposing-looking buildings.
Elaborating on their achievement, Th4_G0dF4Th3R_82 revealed that they had to get really creative with some aspects of the base in order to realize their vision. For instance, although the pool ofNo Man’s Skybuilding partsdoesn’t include windows with lights, the player was able to mimic them by using “massively upscaled” Server Blocks, types A and B. In terms of materials, the player largely relied on alloy, while also incorporating some concrete and metal legacy parts into the city. The main reasoning behind this decision was to introduce some visual variety, the creator explained.
Th4_G0dF4Th3R_82 also took advantage of the cache pin glitch to be able to useNo Man’s SkyFreighter partson the ground. The images of their cyberpunk city amassed hundreds of upvotes and promptly emerged on the front page of the r/NoMansSkyTheGame subreddit in late November 2024, impressing many other fans. Th4_G0dF4Th3R_82 revealed they have spent 70 hours on this creation so far but are not finished yet. They promised to provide regular updates as their work progresses. Since this cyberpunk city has long surpassed the 3,000-part limit, it cannot be uploaded for others to explore.
