After taking fans back to Chapter 2 with a limited-time Remix season,Fortnitekicked off the highly-anticipated Chapter 6 Season 1at the beginning of the month, introducing new gameplay mechanics, an overhauled Battle Royale island, a plethora of unique cosmetic items, and much more. While fans are loving some of the game’s biggest changes, like the new parkour movement system that allows players to wall-run, Epic found itself in hot water with theFortnitecommunity after introducing numerous XP changes, which the studio is now attempting to rectify via new in-game updates.
Fortnite Makes Big XP Adjustments
On December 4,Fortnitemade numerous changes to XP rewards and bonuses, with Daily Bonus Goal rewards increasing from 60,000 to 75,000 per day. The studio also fixedLEGO Fortnite’s Quest XP, increasing the reward to 25,000 XP as it was previously only granting players a mere 700 XP. Now, as part of a new in-game adjustment on December 5, Epic has made even more updates to XP inFortnite. On the officialFortniteStatus Twitter account, Epic said it had increased the XP earned for “several common accolades in Battle Royale.” The studio then said it would continue to monitor XP to determine whether any further adjustments are deemed necessary.
Although Epic didn’t reveal which Battle Royal accolades had been adjusted in thenewFortniteupdate, reliable leaker HYPEX took to Twitter to reveal exactly which changes had been made. According to the leaker, eliminations will now grant 750 XP, up from 250, while surviving a storm circle has seen a massive boost from 250 to 2,000 XP. Numerous other adjustments were also made, such as opening a chest now granting 750 XP instead of 250, as well as opening a rare chest now giving 1,000 XP.
Fans have made it clear over the last week that theywant major changes made toFortnite’s XP rate, so the latest adjustment will likely be a step in the right direction for many players. Although there has been plenty of controversy surrounding the topic, Chapter 6 has kicked off with a bang, and there’s still plenty more to come. December 6 will seeFortniteOG finally return following its huge success in 2023, and Epic has confirmed that the mode will be a permanent addition to the hit Battle Royale.
