A small update, it gave players the ability to cancel reloads by boosting their flashlights, a change that hardcore players surely appreciated. The patch also fixed a bug that affected weapons that had been partially reloaded, causing them not to fire at all. Along with a PS5 DualSense adaptive trigger fix, the Lake House expansion had a big presence in last week’s update notes, with some fixes having to do with the DLC’s cinematics.

A week later, Remedy Entertainment rolled outanother update forAlan Wake 2.Update 1.2.5 is another smaller patch, but it’s one that includes a quality of life change for The Lake House when it’s played as part of the main story, having collectibles from the DLC now show up in protagonistSaga Anderson’s Mind Palace.Alan Wake 2’s enemies that dash around and throw weapons at players have also been slowed, making it easier for players to pin them down and take them out.

Players who enjoyAlan Wake 2’s Pat Maine radio show will likely be happy with Update 1.2.5, as it makes previously unobtainable episodes of the show available once more.Alan Wake 2’s new game plus mode, named The Final Draft, has also seen some improvements with the new update; issues with an unobtainable manuscript page and missing Alice photos have been resolved. For PlayStation 5 Pro users, the update also smooths over a problem with in-game shadows when swapping between quality and performance modes.

WithAlan Wake 2’s second and seemingly final DLC out the door, it doesn’t seem like there’s much else left for Remedy to do for the game aside from improving its performance onSony’s freshly released PS5 Prorefresh. As for what’s next for Remedy Entertainment, it recently revealed its first-person shooter set in theControluniverse, namedFBC Firebreak,a bold new direction for the ever-growing “RemedyVerse”.
