The League of Villains was an organization handed to Shigaraki, which he could use to accomplish his desires inMy Hero Academia.Throughout the series, Shigaraki has always been immensely proud of the League, seeking to show off the Nomu and its strength.
However, as the media had yet to recognize his feats, Shigaraki wouldoften become enragedwhen the destruction from the League of Villains was overshadowed. As Shigaraki learned to become a leader, his goals and ideals slowly began to take shape. The League of Villains' significance to Shigaraki became more than his own ideals but rather a means to inspire other Villains.

TheLeague of Villainsis an organization that was formerly led and formed by All For One. However, afterShigaraki Tomuracame of age, All For One bestowed the League on Tomura. At the start of My Hero Academia, the League of Villains was seen as nothing more than a delinquent group of villains attackingUA High School students.
Tomura’s first appearance was in Episode 9 of the series, giving the faculty at UA High School a forewarning of what’s to come before the USJ arc. Tomura has always been displeased with the state of the hero society, and at the start of the series, Tomura did not have any initial goals other than defeating All Might. As the USJ incident was more of an introduction to the League of Villains, at that point, not much was known about what the League set out to accomplish.
However, one thing that remains clear is that Shigaraki has always been proud of the League of Villains. During the USJ arc, Shigaraki was pleased with himself, the number of villains at his disposal, and hisnever-seen-before Nomu.To Shigaraki, the League of Villains was an organization that he was proud to show off and seeks to accomplish several feats under its name.
However, as mentioned, the League of Villains was previously perceived as a pack of delinquents causing and creating havoc for aspiring heroes. As a result, while Shigaraki’s existence was a cause of concern, the League at the time was not a cause of concern at that point in the series. AsAll For One had decades of experience,he knew the League would be perceived this way, so he intended to increase the League’s influence for Shigaraki by using Stain.
If he assumed this is what would happen from the beginning… Then our enemies’ ringleader’s doing pretty well for himself.
All For One needed to nurture Shigaraki to become the ideal vessel for him to become the Demon Lord. However, Shigaraki was not in a mental or physical state for him to do so. As a result, All For One devised numerous plans to ensure he achieved his goal.

Although Shigaraki was immensely proud of the League of Villains and had an army of lower-level villains at his disposal, He was still a one-man army. He had yet to truly establish the League. However, Shigaraki felt a fire lit beneath him after meeting with Stain, recognizing that he also needed an ideology to live by and for others to connect with.
However, after meeting with Stain, Shigaraki felt insulted, as Stain belittled his sense of conviction to that of a mere child with a temper tantrum. Of course, at this point, All For One was aware that this typing of stimulation would nurture and grow Shigaraki’s conviction. To prove that the League of Villains was more than just a group of delinquents, Shigaraki released several Nomu into Hosu City to create chaos, believing that terror and destruction would take precedence over Stain’s arrival.
In doing so, Shigaraki wanted to show off the fruits of the League’s research into Nomu’s.Unfortunately, Stain’s actionsin Hosu caused a riot over the Nomu, which made headlines in the news stations and newspapers. However, it was likely the Heroes and Police Force chose to keep the existence of the Nomu under wraps until more information was made available.
However, this action would send Shigaraki into a rage, as he felt that his organization was being disrespected. Although this is not the ideal situation Shigaraki wanted, the League’s interference withStain’s action caused the two to become connected, elevating the League’s position.
Following this, many followers of Stain joined the League of Villains, thus giving Shigaraki the manpower to threaten the Pro Heroes and achieve his goal of defeating All Might and destroying everything that displeases him. Although Shigaraki is aware that his new subordinates are followers of Stain, his new conviction helps him develop into a real leader of the League of Villains.
The connection hinted at by the current alliance has turned the perception of it from the pack of delinquents that, after attacking UA, got hit back in return to a broad acknowledgment that it was a group following his ideology.
After All For One was arrested, Shigaraki took his position as the League of Villains seriously and began strategizing ways to elevate their position and take down their respective enemies. Shigaraki has consistently looked out for the League’s best interest, and various proposals and offers to absorb the League intothe Shie Hassakaiwere met with swift refusal. While the League of Villains had merged with the Meta Liberation Army to makethe Paranormal Liberation Front, Shigaraki was still proud of the League and always thought of the original members.
As mentioned previously, Shigaraki was immensely proud of the League of Villains. Although many of the members chose to follow their own goals, Shigaraki still felt as the leader of the League, it was his duty to motivate and become a hero to them, as seen in Chapter 418.
It’s likely at this point that Shigaraki felt that even if his hatred were to disappear, as the leader of the League of Villains, he should continue to fight for their goals as the villains put their trust in him. Although Shigaraki learns everything he has gone through was manufactured by All For One, in his final moments, he still wishes tomotivate Spinner as a friendand the leader of the League.

However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
