Spin-off “Reaching Its Climax”

But for those who have enjoyed stories that expand the series lore and universe,Team Up Missionis another farewell they will soon have to deal with, asthe series will reach its climax in the next Saikyo Jump issue, slated for June 27, 2025.

“Climax” is what Japanese manga usually call the final stage of a story. It does not necessarily mean the last chapter itself, but the story will reach its peak and eventually have some follow-up chapters to solve remaining issues. It means the series is ending soon, but not necessarily next month.

Team-Up Mission Creator and Story

Team Up Mission is serialized byYoco Akiyama, who had previously worked in other My Hero Academia spin-offs, such as the “Everyone Is Someone’s Hero"one-shot (focused onTwo Heroes' original character Melissa Shield) andMy Heroine Academiagag manga. It has been running in Shueisha’sSaikyo Jumpmagazine since 2019, with over 50 chapters and 7 volumes so far.

The plot explores the Team-Up Missions program, in which different students from several schools collaborate with Hero Offices to keep peace in the cities. In this spin-off, aspiring heroes, including the main characters from the original story, go on several missions, but no one knows who will be teamed up with whom. So heroes, old and new characters could all work together on the same mission.

Even original characters from the movies (including Melissa) make appearances in this story, and it might not be absurd to imagine the final chapters might reference the original manga’s finale.

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missionis published in the US by VIZ Media, in both print and digital formats. VIZ also licenses the originalMy Hero Academiamanga and other spin-off works. My Hero Academiaanime adaptation is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed.
