DespiteMy Hero Academiaending back in August, the community is more active than ever. Horikoshi Kohei and his staff have been busy announcing new projects related to the series. In December 2024, My Hero Academia Volume 42 was released. As the final volume, Horikoshi added over 30 new pages, which expanded on the original ending.
Recently, the official website for My Hero Academia revealed the result of the World Best Hero popularity poll. It got quite a reception as over 6 million people voted. The winner of the poll was Katsuki Bakugo.Midoriya finished as therunner-up.

The remainder of the characters can be found on the official website of My Hero Academia. The list goes up to 276, so there is a good chance that fans will find their favorites somewhere on it.
The website also offers a detailed view of which characters were the most popular in each region. Interestingly, Midoriya only finished in the top spot in Europe, whileBakugo dominated the first positionin all the other areas.
There is another stage of the popularity poll in which the top 3 characters will enter a competition for 24 hours. Whosoever wins will be eligible for a bronze statue. The winner will be forever immortalized by the statue.
Also, it is worth noting that all the characters who finished in the top 10 will getnew illustrations drawn by Horikoshi Kohei.
My Hero Academia Ending Is A Bit Controversial
My Hero Academia’s new ending proved to have been polarizing. Fans either love it or hate it. There seems to be no middle ground whatsoever. Some My Hero Academia fans became so outraged by the ending that they began mass-blocking Horikoshi Kohei’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
2025 will be a big year for My Hero Academia fans as the final season of the anime will be released. Additionally,two new books will also be releasedsometime next year. One of them is a fanbook, while the other is an artbook.
