8Petra Leyte
An Arlam Village Girl Who Becomes A Maid At Roswaal Manor
Acting as the voice of Arlam Village, Petra Leyte is one of the more underappreciated members of Team Emilia. Starting as an innocent young girl who idolizes Subaru and his actions in protecting her home, Petra joins Roswaal Manor as a maid, hoping to aid Subaru in his journey.
Despite lacking combat skills, Petra emerges as a strong team player in Team Emilia, even whenbeing attacked by Elsa Granhiertat Roswaal Manor. Out of Subaru’s followers, Petra ranks as one of his most loyal, finding inspiration from the protagonist and his heroic actions.
7Al
A Mysterious Knight Who Provides Humor When Required
Often known as Priscilla Barielle’s loyal knight,Al has become a mysterious figurelurking in theRe:Zeroworld. Despite being a lackey for Priscilla, Al gets on well with Subaru in their meetings, seemingly having common ground with the protagonist.
When the comical character returns in Season 3, he proves his worth by joining the war party sent to deal with the Witch Cult members terrorizing the city of Priestella. Although the character lacks the outright strength of other knights, Al remains an intriguing character, serving as a bright spot in Priscilla’s entourage.
6Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti
The First Sin Archbishop Subaru Encountered
On Subaru’s journey, Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti was the protagonist’s first introduction to the Witch Cult, withthe Sin Archbishop causing Subaru a significant headache. Initially being a kindhearted man who acted as a father figure to Emilia in her youth, the now crazed and obsessed Sin Archbishop of Sloth only seeks to meet the Witch of Envy, with Subaru having an unknown connection with Satella.
As Subaru tries to save Emilia, the residents of Roswaal Manor, and Arlam Village, Petelgeuse puts a stop in Subaru’s tracks, killing him endlessly and inflicting much pain and suffering. As Subaru’s first main nemesis, Petelgeuse proves to be an eccentric and wild villain, making the second half of season 1 a thrilling sight to behold.
5Roswaal L. Mathers
A Talented Mage Who Plays Both Sides
Being Team Emilia’s benefactor, Roswaal L. Mathers isoften overlooked in the campcompared to characters such as Subaru and Rem. However, Roswaal has been integral to the narrative throughout the show’s first two seasons.
Often playing both sides as he backs Emilia, Roswaal has ulterior motives that reveal themselves in Season 2, with the powerful mage seeking to reunite with his master, Echidna. Proving to be one of Season 2’s best antagonists, Roswaal’s goals and ambitions provide a thrilling contest between the mage and Subaru, with the protagonists' victory enabling growth for both characters.
4Julius Juukulius
A Strict Knight Who Becomes A Valuable Ally To Subaru
As one of Subaru’s main rivals, Julius Juukulius has gone on to be a valued friend and ally of the protagonist in his many battles throughoutRe:Zero. Often framed as an uptight knight that has traditional values,Julius and Subaru butt headsduring the Royal Selection process. However, Julius has come to understand and rely on Subaru as a friend as he aids him in his fight against Petelgeuse and, later on, the Witch Cult in Priestella.
Working as Anastasia Hoshin’s knight, Julius has become one of the critical defenders of Priestella, attacking the captured City Hall with the help of Subaru and others in order to save the city.
3Otto Suwen
Chief Strategist Of Team Emilia
Otto Suwen may not be the strongest in combat. However, the former merchant has undoubtedly made his mark in Team Emilia, assisting Subaru and later becoming a strategist for Emilia in her political endeavors. Initially aiding Subaru in his efforts to save Roswaal Manor and Arlam Village, Otto has proven to be one of Subaru’s most reliable friends, saving him from despair when Subaru faces off against Roswaal in the Sanctuary.
Along with his role in Team Emilia, Otto’s Divine Protection of the Soul of Language makes him a helpful resource, withhis ability to communicate with animalscoming in handy, particularly during the Sanctuary arc.
2Felix Argyle
A Playful Healer Who Stays Loyal To Crusch
One of Crusch Karsten’s knights, Felix Argyle, is one of the many characters who provide plenty of comedic value inRe:Zero. Despite not havingthe strength of Crusch’s other knight, Wilhelm van Astrea, Felix makes up for his lack of combat with his top-notch healing skills, used during the battle against the White Whale and when the Witch Cult attacked Priestella.
Aside from being a healing prodigy due to their Divine Protection of Water, Felix’s relationship and chemistry with Crusch leads to an entertaining tandem, with Felix’s playful attitude meshing with Crusch’s traditional and serious persona.
1Crusch Karsten
Strong And Heroic Leader That Is Full Of Class
As a Royal Selection candidatefor the throne of Lugunica, Crusch acts and looks the part of a strong leader, being the head of House Karsten. Although she may not be as popular as Emilia or Reinhard van Astrea, Crusch has pulled off many feats inRe:Zero.
From helping lead the assault on the White Whale alongside Subaru to aiding the efforts to stop the Witch Cult in Priestella, Crusch has led nobly and without any hesitation. Despite losing her memories to Lye Batenkaitos, Crusch has continued forward with the same perseverance as she strives for a better society in which she wishes to rule.
