YouTubers and streamers are a particularly big part oftheFive Nights at Freddy’scommunity, and the team behind the movie decided to pay tribute to this in the film adaptation by including cameos from influencers like MatPat and CoryxKenshin.
Will Markiplier Appear in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2?
One YouTuber fans were hoping to see inFive Nights at Freddy’swas Markiplier (aka Mark Fischbach), whose channel became renowned for hisFive Nights at Freddy’splaythrough videos. The streamer was originally supposed to have an appearance in the film, playing another security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria, but Markiplier had to pull out of the role due to his commitments to other projects. WithFive Nights at Freddy’s 2now moving forward, fans are hoping there may be a second chance for Markiplier to make his long-awaited cameo.
Markiplier addressed this question in an episode of thePowerWash Pals Podcastposted on November 26. Markiplier had a disappointing update on this front saying “In all honesty, no one has reached out, which is totally fine, … I think they started filming it already so at this point I don’t think it’s going to happen.” The filmmaker added that if they did approach him to appear inFive Nights at Freddy’s 2he would hope to have a similar-sized role lined up rather than just a quick cameo. Some have questioned whether Markiplier could be lying about having a role in the sequel,as fellow YouTuber MatPatdid a similar thing leading up to his appearance inFive Nights at Freddy’sand ended up being in the film. At this point, it’s up to fans whether they think Markiplier could appear inFNAF 2or not, but at this stage, it appears unlikely.

Why Markiplier Was Cut From the First Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie
Markiplier also explained how hisoriginal role in the firstFNAFfilmcame about, revealing he was initially supposed to play the cab driver in the movie (a role that CoryxKenshin ended up playing), but asked the game’s creator, Scott Cawthon, whether he could have a more substantial role that he could bring his acting experience to. This resulted in him being cast as the security guard, who is killed in the opening of the movie, but Markiplier ended up having to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.“I wanted to do it, I was ready to do it, it was just schedules got misaligned with Iron Lung and filming,“he said.
Markiplier still maintains that busy schedule, with the actor recently leadingThe Edge of Sleepon Prime Video and still working towards releasinghis directorial debut,Iron Lung. So whether he’d have time to appear inFive Nights at Freddy’s 2, even if there was a role for him, is another factor at play.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2is scheduled for release in December 2025.
